Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI was a little disappointed with this hotel. Having stayed in other hotels in Japan, we knew the room would be small but this one was really small. If you are over 6ft tall, you might have difficulty closing the bathroom door whilst on the toilet! lol
Location is ideal if wanting to explore Dotonbori. It's only about an 8min walk away. The breakfast was great. Lots to choose from. Western cuisine as well as Japanese style breakfast. The roof top pool was lovely, as it was extremely hot when we were there. However you have to book it and can only stay 1hr. Fee is charged. Worth it for the view.

United KingdomAt certain times of the day, the elevators are extremely busy, and there is a queue to go upstairs. The rooms are extremely tiny. When you've got a big suitcase it is hard to even get into the room.
The hotel seems very new. It is very clean. From the higher floors you get an amazing view of Osaka. The bed is very comfortable. There is a free water dispenser on every floor as well.

CanadaMaybe only the lack of "staff" interaction, but that is the design! Also the hotel "interior" is actually outside, so prepare to be hot (or cold) upon exiting your room!
APA standard with an excellent onsen! Great sauna and a variety of baths to choose from. Didn't try the restaurant, but having the 711 right there beside the onsen was a plus! Room was functional for its size. Had a small window on the 29th floor; crazy view! Self-check seemed to give some people issues, but I had no problem.

United KingdomEverything was good - the only thing that worked less well was the queue to store luggage following check out. That said, it was organised and efficient and I'm not sure what else they could do given the number of people wanting to store items.
The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from Dotonburi, so really handy and close to restaurants and bars. Our room, though small by UK standards was bigger than the one we had in Tokyo and comfortable. The hotel has a gym, laundry and 7-Eleven, so really well equipped. We ate in the bar one evening and the food was good and not too overpriced for a hotel restaurant.

PolandWe stayed in a few APA hotels during our trip and the rooms are always very similar to each other. This hotel, however, has different bed mattresses from other APA hotels, and they are softer and in my opinion less comfortable. The hotel has 40 floors and there can be queues to the lifts. During the peak hour before the checkout the waiting time can be up to 15 min. The same applies to the queue if you want to leave your luggage for storage. Finally, although it's clearly stated in the description of the hotel, please note that you have to pay extra for the rooftop swiming pool. The one included in the price is indoors on the 4th floor.
Great location next to Namba Station. Fantastic views of Osaka skyline from the rooms on the higher floors. As clean and well organised as other APA hotels. Efficient automatic checkin booths. I didn't buy the breakfast so I can't review it.

FranceThe access to the pool on the roof is actually paid and very expensive, as is the parking, which was listed as included but was charged to us. The various access points are very slow: we waited for the elevator between 10 and 15mn each time, and 25 min to park and to remove our car from the parking: something to keep in mind when you are in a hurry!

AustraliaElevator takes so long, give yourself 10min to get in & out of your floor. Pack clothes in packing cubes so you can take them out as no room to open luggage.
Property has everything you need except for space, if you can live in a caravan then you’ll be fine. Coin laundry & clothes compactor are convenient.

TaiwanThe door of emergency exit seems locked and no notice of how to open it which is confusing.
We stayed in a connect room which is convenient when traveling with family. APA provides everything you need when traveling, the public spa, the laundry. Late check out and early check in with a 2000yen per hour is very convenient for us.

CanadaHaving to pay almost $25 per hour for pool on top of hotel rate is ridiculous- this is a bit much since pool is tiny and crowded. Also had to go to reception to get band to get into pool like a theme park!! Bathroom is very very small.
