How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

For an IHG, we expected the rooms to be more spacious or sympathetically laid out for the traveller who has suitcases (rather than a businessman travelling light). Difficult to manoeuvre around everything. Overpriced for what it was plus parking was extra. Isn't a particularly memorable hotel.
View of the fishing boats, harbour and sunset, access to restaurants, onsite parking, helpful staff. Breakfast was okay.

Motorcycle friendly accommodation with off street parking in the heart of Kushiro near the harbour. Clean quiet room. Friendly helpful staff. Close to local attractions, bars and restaurants. I would stay here again.

Fittings are getting a little tired but renovations are underway. Toilet was older and noisy. Poorcreading lighting over the beds. Needed to sit at the desk with the desk lamp on.
Located two minutes from an airport shuttle bus, bus stop. View from the breakfast room on the 18th was great. The variety and standard of food for the breakfast was very good. A very pleasant surprise. Immediate surroundings were a bit drab and walk to many eating places was a 10 minute at least backstreet one. Hotel food in restaurant was expensive but two cheaper eating places on first floor - cafe and coffee shop. Views from seaside rooms was looking across to a large fleet of fishing boats which was very interesting. Room was large by Japanese standards. Two double beds, desk and desk chair and a small couch.

The bathroom felt a little dated and would benefit from a refurbishment.
An excellent breakfast with a wide variety of choice. Everything was spotlessly clean and quiet.

The room was very small and I had difficulty finding somewhere to open my luggage which opens to twice the area when closed.

Charged us for parking, even though in a remote location. Not close to many eating places.
Nice location on seafront, although not a very scenic seafront, reasonable.

As some reviewers mentioned, central air-condition and heating system is not the best. Impossible to adjust temperature from the room panel. For us, the background music in the lobby was too loud.
Location is perfect, next to the wharf. Ocean view was wonderful, especially during sunset. Corner room was very specious, with all necessary amenities and very comfortable beds.

Nothing really
The location was great with an interesting view over the very busy port. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. The food in the onsite restaurant was very good and the breakfast was fantastic.

The room is new but a bit cramped for a family of 3. The city is pretty quiet. The main shopping area is around the AEON mall, which is about 10 minutes away by car.
The hotel is located opposite the Fisherman's Wharf MOO with a small seafood market and there are some nice restaurants nearby.

Apart from Moo centre and the fish market downtown Kushiro was very devoid of any attractions
Great staff, Proper hotel with all the amenities which seems hard to come by in Kushiro.

The hotel is a bit further from Kushiro Station than expected. It wouldn't be a problem except in Winter there the snow/black ice makes navigating the walkway while towing luggage - there is no shuttle bus provided would recommend getting a cab for this commute in Winter to save some grief.
Came at a quiet time over the New Year and it was a joy to stay. Magnificent view of the port like what you get in the webstream except in better definition. Rooms are newly renovated for those looking for that fresh furniture smell. Staff are patient and lovely. Opted for a teppanyaki dinner and the chef didn't disappoint on the pan (the intel on Shima-enaga, not so ^o^ ).

The view from my spacious room of the harbour and its surroundings. The staff - super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant: I had a superb dinner (Del Nord Restaurant) - occidental food with a Japanese touch.
