Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hong Kong-No restaurant close by. (But it’s not their issues, you could cook in room as well). -It would be great if there are bicycle could be rented. As the place is good for cycling. -Gym room package could be an great idea as well :) -Could add some hooks inside the bathroom for hanging clothes during bath. Adding a door outside the shower room and toilet will be better for non-couple. -Just one key is not convenient enough, suggest to have one more so guest could return hotel separately.
The location is excellent for traveller. 5-10mins from station; just 1 station from Okayama. Familymart just downstairs. Spacious room. With washing/dry machine is amazing point!!! With in room kitchenette and self service open pantry (oven/ coffee, utensils…) Staff is nice! Response on time :) Will come again if i visit this city again.

BrazilThe location is not ideal for sightseeing as, in most cases, you have to take a train to the Okayama station. There seems to be around a 20 min interval between these trains, which makes this a bit annoying. Not a huge deal as usually you get out in the morning and only come back in the evening.
This is a very nice hotel for a great price. The room was very spacious, quiet, had a comfortable bed and large windows. The bathroom is also very good. Very close to the train station. The staff is friendly and helpful.

United KingdomNot much to criticise, but it is a little 'out of the way' in terms of location. Not a massive deal as it is very near the train station, but apart from a seven11 next door, there is not many close by places for food etc.
Quirky and cool place to stay! I was backpacking around Japan so having a washing machine in the room was perfect! I was greeted by 2 smiling members of staff which was a great welcome considering the travelling I had done prior to check in. Would happily stay here again.

AustraliaI really can't complain, the hotel had everything we needed and much more. Service was friendly and helpful.
Location was great for proximity to train station and within one stop of Okayama city. It was also close to Kurashiki which was worth the visit. The market and shopping village near the station was also good and there were local izakaya within walking distance. Having a washer dryer in the room was fantastic.

RussiaBig room, very clean, a lot of additional facilities on the floor with free access. Washing×drying mashine in the room, kitchen in the room, towels unlimited, tea bar and others things. We rented 6 hotels in the Japan. This was the best at the same price rate. Location looks far, but it is one station from the center actually.

United KingdomThe property itself is fine; the location might be an issue if you like having options beyond Family Mart & Tully's Coffee close by.
Perhaps one of the more surreal places I've stayed at in Japan. It's a physical rehab facility for the elderly located opposite Kitanagase station, a stunningly bland district of Okayama. The rooms are exceptionally big for Japan, and are more like self-catering apartments (indeed, people live in smaller apartments in Japan). The reception staff were very pleasant. Great value for money.

RomaniaWhen I arrived in the room the temperature was 11°C. I turned on the heating while I went to take a bath and the room heated up in the meantime. I usually set the room temperature to 19°C, but it still felt really cold in this room so I had to set it to 21°C. I think because one entire wall of the room consists only of sliding glass doors, it is pretty difficult to heat up and maintain a constant temperature.
The room was huge and you could adjust the light intensity. The bed was comfortable and adjustable by height etc. The bathtub was spacious and the shower room is Japanese style. I liked that the shower head had a button to start and stop the water. The toilet is very modern even by Japanese standards.

What a pleasant surprise this hotel was, really great rooms, super friendly staff, a washmachine and dryer in your room to use for free, wow! On booking.com, the hotel comes accross as a bit shabby, but it is not at all. Everything is very new, spacious and well maintained.

ChinaOn the first 3 days' morning, the hotel's background music woke me up at 6 am (but my wife could bear its sound volume) and I could hear the occassional conversations outside in the corridor on one morning. But from the 4th day (we stayed for 7 days), very quiet and no music interruption anymore. The hotel's reception could further improve the in-time feedbacks to the inquiries from the arriving guests. As it was the first time to travel to Okayama, it looked we may have to arrive at the hotel at around 8 PM. Even though the hotel reception had told us they will send a message to instruct how to do the self check-in, I'm still not sure if the reception may be still waiting for our arrival after I had sent the messages through Booking that we had been on the airport bus to Okayama then on the train to the hotel in Kitanagase.
Excellent location near the Kitanagase railway station, 5-minute walk-distance. Out-of-expected big room (larger than most Japanese hotel room) with well-equipped modern indoor electrical equipment. Sufficient, accessible supplements for the daily self-help exchange and need. Very quiet in night even though the hotel stays by the road. A big Family Mark store stands by the hotel, very convenient to buy the light meals and daily items. A big pharmacy store and a sport park is near the railway station. We had got a very pleasant stay at this hotel and appreciate the hotel staff's compliments card to cheer for our wedding anniversary. We would like to highly recommend this high price ratio hotel to the friends who have the plan to visit Okayama (just 1 stop to Okayama from Kitanagase with multiple-option trains).

SingaporeApart from the location being 1 stop away from Okayama station, nothing really. The location was an issue because one night there was actually a train service disruption and I ended up waiting till past midnight for a local train to get back to my/this hotel. It was the only bad thing during my trip.
I had the impression it was just a room. I was so surprised there's a kitchenette (there aren't any cooking utensils but there's no stopping you from bringing cooking utensils I guess) and even a laundry machine inside the room. They even provide soap and coat deodoriser which are little touches that are very thoughtful of them/anticipates the needs of the guest.

AustraliaThe change area for bathing is not closed as there isn’t a door and we felt a bit awkward. This may be because of the structure of the building (it’s round and the room is the shape of a fan) but it may be better if a door is fitted or screen is provided.
It was very clean and quiet. Necessary items were well organised and our stay was very comfortable.

SingaporeThe TV is not a smart TV and only has a few channels. 1 of the bed headboard is slighty noisy. No power outlet near the bed.
This is unlike other hotels, as the room is bigger and has a washing machine, large fridge and stove. The toilet is new, and the bathtub is bigger than usual hotels. The only downside is there isn't a restaurant or room service. The service at the front desk is great and helpful as they help to hold our language and keep it in our room as we arrived early and was going to check later during the day. The location is good as it is 1 local stop away from Okayama and 3 stops away Kurashiki.

PortugalNothing. - Note: Not an issue for us, but to be mentioned: there is no kitchen in the room.
Good room size, comfortable beds, and beautiful bathroom with separate super toilets... This seems to be a place for physiotherapy treatments, with a gym on the ground floor. Free car park at the back. Many amenities available on the 3rd floor, including washers, iron and board, coffee, etc... Comfortable and quiet.
