Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeI would recommend this hotel as it is value for money. It is located at high elevation overlooking a cluster of houses in front of the setting sun. The boss is very nice and accommodating and provided us a bigger room when we found out the room we booked is a little small. Just next to the hotel is a shop where you can get some basic essential stuff. Very convenient and a 6min drive to Petra Visitor Center. Highly recommended

CanadaThis is a family owned/run hotel, and Mahmoud is a very gracious host, and even arranged for my transportation from the airport in Amman to the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. Of course, the sunset didn't disappoint.

NetherlandsThere was no food on location. The breakfast is served in a close by restaurant. The first morning we were early and were no other guests there from the hotel. The main waiter gave us one single small plate of hummus, falafel and tea for 2 people. This was clearly too little, so we asked for an extra portion. We did not have an issue paying, but the waiter charged us 3JDS for a small portion of hummus and falafel (while local clients were buying sandwiches for less than 1). When we complained this was too much, he confirmed this is the tourist price and started making unpleasant comments. He was extremely rude. Later we talked to the hotel manager, who apologized, promising the day after we would be treated differently. The day after the same waiter served us normal breakfast portions (hummus, mutabbal, falafel, salad), just like other clients next to us. However no mention, apologies or refund about the day before. It was very awkward and it was the first time in Jordan we felt cheated and unwelcome.
Clean, very quiet, central location, friendly staff. The lounge is spacious and perfect to relax after a hike. Beautiful view and sunset!

United KingdomYou probably need a taxi to get down to the visitor centre which they can arrange The WiFi wasn't working when we were there
The location up on a hill a bit out of town is a great spot to watch the sunset. There is a rooftop restaurant and terraces to sit out and watch the sunset. The rooms are clean and comfortable, some are nicely decorated with traditional textiles. The owner is a friendly helpful man.

United KingdomThe top room whilst beautiful needs a bit of TLC
The view is breath taking from the top room which is all decked out Bedouin style. The rooms are small, clean and functional but absolutely fine. Free Tea and Coffee all day and a simple but tasty breakfast. The owner was wonderful and made us feel very welcome, as there were very few people staying the restaurant was not open so he helped us order in from his restaurant in town.

BelgiumNothing really. It is not a luxury resort but a great place with an authentic and local character.
The place offers a gorgeous view on the city (Wadi Musa) and the mountains in the back. The owner (Mohammed) is very sociable, hospitable and always ready to give you good advice on how to plan your visits to Petra. Breakfast is standard but ok . Breakfast is taken on the terrace room with amazing views. Rooms are basic but offer all services (toilet and shower). But you do not need a fancy room In Wadi Musa as you will be out all day to visit the historical site in Petra. Internet connection is good, even in the room. The whole place creates a very cosy and homely atmosphere as it is everywhere decorated with carpets (on the ground and on the walls) in the traditional bedouin colours.
