Property not in walking distance from town but with the beautiful nature around, you want to just stay put and enjoy the serenity.

Property was nature filled. Nature all around. Was tranquil and peaceful. Birds and ocean only disturbance. But do bring your insect repellent as it will be necessary.

No AC Limited food options near the property. You need a car if you want to venture out of Tingalats which was fine for us as we had one.

Unique, homely space on the cliffs with a gorgeous salt water pool with a ladder which leads down to the sea in the right conditions. Super friendly and helpful staff with a great breakfast provided

The retreat is quite far from the restaurants/town and you need a car to go for dinner in the evening (as it is dark and the road is full of potholes) however you are allowed to cook in their kitchen which we enjoyed.

What a nice atmosphere!!! We loved our little, simple room hut close to the cliffs and the small swimming pool (with a queen bed and a nice bathroom with warm water). A good breakfast is served in the ‘living room’ on the other side of the road. We also experienced a lovely yoga session. Eleanore is a more than an amazing host. She really takes care of guests in a super professional and pleasant way. Thousand thanks to you and all the other ‘crew’ members. We really enjoyed our stay.

Felt like home. Beautiful and caring staff. Delicious homemade Jamaican Breakfast. Great place to relax and swim the beautiful caribbean waters. Great Snorkling opportunities within the property.

Tingalaya's Retreat was above expectations. The staff made you feel like family and took care of us at all moments.The breakfast was one of the best ones we had in the island, we requested local food and what the Chef cooked was incredible. The pool is in amazing location just one step from the sea, it's clean and has salt water which makes it very special. We will come back

Everything was just perfect as it was.

This is place is absolutely fantastic, the setting, the facilities, how well is kept and run. Beside the natural beauty and peaceful surrounding of this place what made the difference for us was the amazing service! Sophia , the manager, what a fantastic host and cook also!! Really a welcoming , homey atmosphere from all the staff working there. We had the pleasure to also meet the owner of the place who told us nice stories and gave us local tips. If you’re looking for a peaceful place with amazing people this is the one!

Negatives: The bugs in our room were out of control, both day and night, even when we used three mosquito coils at once. While the patio was screened, there were gaps under the doors leading into the room, and the doors to the screened patio were not airtight. Additionally, there was a 6-by-1-foot opening above the door with no screen or glass. The mosquito net on the bed was ripped and full of holes, allowing bugs to enter our sleeping area. I found large red ants crawling on me at night and cockroaches in the bed. There were also cockroaches in the bathroom. My entire family had difficulty sleeping due to mosquitoes buzzing in our ears, and we left with numerous mosquito bites. Because of the open space above the door, the air conditioning was ineffective—the cool air simply escaped. Even with two ceiling fans, two floor fans, and the AC running, the room remained uncomfortably warm. The pool on the property was unusable. It’s supposed to fill with ocean water during high tide, but it was practically empty the entire time. The breakfast was quite basic, consisting of coffee, tea, eggs, bacon, smoked fish, collard greens, fruit, and bread. We had the same menu every morning for four days. Our room was only cleaned once during our four-day stay. The shower area lacked a curtain, so no one else could enter the bathroom while someone was showering. The bathroom itself was separated from the bedroom by just a curtain. While the property felt safe, the security guard was stationed across the street at night. We had to open and close the gate ourselves nearly every time we parked the car. At the end of the day, for the price we paid for this room, we could have stayed at a more luxurious resort without all these issues. Lesson learned…

We stayed in the King Suite for four days. The room had one king bed, one twin bed, and one queen bed. There was also a bed in the screened-in patio. The suite had one large bathroom. Positives: The staff at the resort were kind, thoughtful, friendly, and helpful. They provided great suggestions for things to do and places to eat. My daughter loved playing with the litter of puppies—they were absolutely adorable! The décor of the place was charming and warm.

The owner can't help it, but the dogs in the neighboring side kill the peaceful vibes with their howling. Also, need to have remote operated gate - getting in and out of car each time to open and close gate became tedious.

Staff are lovely and very helpful, especially Sophie. Loved the landscaping clean beds, majestic ocean views over the pool.
