How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThe property is gated with 24 hour security. Also on grounds parking is available. A very scenic, well manipulated property with pool, hot tub and bar. Not too large that a guest will become lost. A nice property for a smaller wedding.
I didn’t experience any problems or have any grievances about the property.

Verified reviewLocation was remote but not unduly so. The property itself is very well-kept and clean. Breakfast was unimpressive and needs some improvement, perhaps in its variety. The owner was away on family emergency and perhaps this amounted to the fall in standard.
Wi-fi problems far too prevalent throughout my stay. Reception staff was very friendly and did their best but could only achieve limited success. It seems that the wi-fi provider was the problem. A small bottle of water cost US$3 plus taxes and that I found to be highly unacceptable and excessive.

Verified reviewit takes 5-6 min by car to reach the villa from the main beach, it is up in the hill with very nice view, and it is very quiet. Beautiful garden and nice pool. The room is just right in sizes, nice balcony on every room (2 floors). Coffee machine and fridge in the room. Security at the entrance
unfortunately the organization of this place is terrible. We arrived approx at 6pm, the lady was very nice and informed that, if we wanted, we had to pre-order lunch or dinner and sent the menu by whatsapp. We decided to have dinner, ordered the food but than we had to wait 1,5h to get it and we were the only guests for dinner. The morning after we went to the restaurant for breakfast, which is included, but they said we had to pre-order it (nobody told us), so we waited almost an hour, other people who arrived after us were served before, and we got a very small portion of eggs andd vegetables with 3 slices of bread as this is all they had. We left the villa to go around and in the afternoon , when back, the room was not made. We asked and they said we had to ask for it (but nobody told us upon arrival). We ordered breakfast for the morning after and at 10pm (we were already sleeping) I got a message informing that because of the nr of guests, breakfast could not be served before 9am !!!! We left without breakfast. I also inform that bar and drink prices are extremely high and in fact bar was always empty please be careful when you book as Booking states 1 night deposit is required but they charged me the full amount + 4% for credit card fees, than after informing Booking, they apologized and we agreed to get the 4% back and a discount back upon arrival. But this is not the correct way of working

Price vs quality is zero! For a 5 star hotel we expected to have: -breakfast! All they had was cabbage and liver which we don't eat. We expected to have at least toast or bread, eggs and butter (that has not expired since August) and to have milk for our coffee which they didnt We were there for 2 days and it didn't get any better. It was awful! -the only place where we were charged an extra 4% with our credit card. Unacceptable! -a better mattress (it was so bad we had bad back for days), -water and a kettle in the room (every 5star we've been to always offers some water and had tea and coffee) -wifi that worked (we had to almost beg for it) -not flicking lights (WC lights) -shade in the pool (there was none whatsoever) The staff did what they could to accommodate, so this is NOT a reflection on them but a criticism to the owner. The hotel was empty. We were literally the only guests for 2 days and not even with all of these issues we were offered an upgrade. Really bad service! How did you get 5 stars is beyond us. Thank you

Verified reviewVery nice view from atop the hillside of the ocean. The cook, the staff, all were very good hearted people. Guests are treated like family. The food preparation and presentation was perfection.
The heater on the outside jacuzzi and the jets were not functioning. The small air tubes into the seat portion were making bubbles but the jets in the sides were not working, nor the heat.

Verified reviewA nice guest house with great staff but it’s not a hotel and has no restaurant. we liked the people who were kind and made up for many of the shortcomings. the view is good. the housekeeper made the rooms look great
All we needed was some honesty about the post Christmas period limitations …. if you can’t make a martini just say it’s not the end of the world but don’t charge me a London 5 star price. Food was terrible. Simple things could lift this place significantly

On a serious note .. this place is a chic Boutique hotel with so many extra features Around you to make u feel special.. we arrived to a beautiful garden view room .. but hot tape wasn’t working 😉 and within 10 minutes of moving to an another room.. we were move into a honeymoon suite for the inconvenience which we wasn’t expecting it, but it was just another touch to a unique Hotel and the host who goes out his way to make you feel welcome..🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲👏👏👏

Verified reviewThe ambience was welcoming. You are shuttled from your vehicle to the main area which was a plus. The staff was very warm and accommodating. Will definitely book again.
There was tea stuff in the room but no kettle. Was told kettle wasn't a feature of that room, hence it is recommended that the tea stuff be removed from that or those rooms.

Verified reviewExcellent place to stay with beautiful views of the mountains and the sea. The room was very nice, comfortable, spacious with a good size balcony and was clean with lots of towels and everything we could need. The breakfast was nicely cooked and presented and the staff went the extra mile to make us feel comfortable.
