Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe bathroom was a little dated but manageable
What a great location and magnificent view. The room balcony was perfect for relaxing. For those with cars there’s even parking. Extremely rare. It’s easy to get to the city center. There’s a little market and bar nearby that is truly a local experience

BelgiumBreakfast, served at the table with with no buffet and pre-defined beverage, jam, some bread and a croissant for each person, no options offered, has a lot of room for improvement (also the “cappuccino”, which was in reality separately served coffee and milk to be mixed by each host…). Several floors and no elevator inside the hotel, but as moving around up and down in Positano requires anyway being fit (or at least not impaired) this was not an issue. The bathroom was basic and would need renovation but it had all that was needed. Towels of different shapes, colours and quality, some a bit worn out. ..
Property is on the slope, in a quiet location but very close to the road and stairs (427 steps!) leading down to the centre of Positano and to the beaches. The location features a view over Positano from the large terrace where breakfast is served if weather allows it. On site private parking is for sure a big plus in Positano and it was reasonably priced. Our room was large and featured a large balcony with table and chairs (no sun-beds), fridge, large TV and strong WiFi coverage. The hotel structure and furniture are still dating from the early 1970s, when the hotel was built. Having been a kid back then and having experienced those hotels, this was not a problem for us. Overall, considering the current accommodation prices in Positano, it was good value for money.

IndiaThe disappointing aspects are - very small bathrooms and outdated fixtures - no electric kettle in the room so you cannot sip your favourite tea on the balcony unless you reach out to the front desk and get a pot of hot water every time - few rooms are 2 levels below so be ready to climb down the stairs with your luggage as there’s no lift/elevator - breakfast consists of croissants, bread butter/jam, yogurt, juice and coffee and it repeats every day.
Location is exceptional as the property overlooks mountains and valley. There are 3 ways to get to the property - you could be arriving from places like Amalfi/Sorrento/Salerno/etc… - if you take taxi, you’ll reach the property directly but taxi fares are unimaginably high. For ex, if you are 4 people from Amalfi expect to pay 120-130 Euros while bus costs around 1.5 Euros per person. - if you take a bus from a distant place like Sorrento or Salerno, then you have to alight at a stop called Chiesa Nuova which is 600-700 meters away and either walk down the spiralling roads for 10 mins take an internal Positano smaller bus and get down right opposite the property (stop called Casale) - if arriving thru ferry then u have to arrive at Positano port and walk up thru the small shopping streets to reach the town (600-800 metres) and then take internal Positano bus to reach Casale right opposite the property. You will not be able to carry big suitcases in the internal Positano buses so will have to hire porter at the port and they charge 10-15 euros per bag. Positano is a vertical town unlike Amalfi. The rooms are fairly sized with fantastic balcony overseeing mountains/valleys.

I liked the room itself, quite large with a beautiful little patio and a view of Positano. I liked the staff, very kind and friendly. I liked the fact that there were people to greet me on arrival!

AustraliaThe bathroom smelled like swamp gas every night, very potent. The plumbing needs some attention. We told the owners, but I do not anticipate anything being done. We had to leave the fan on in the bathroom and unscrew the light bulb, so that it was dark in our room
It's a 70's time capsule. And it is very cute. It was clean and the view was great.

NorwayStayed there for 2 nights The B&B is located 3-4min walk from the buss stop to/from Sorrento which makes it easy to get there after long trip. However if you are coming to Positano by ferry, be prepared for a hike :) The interior looks a bit old (which we liked), room was spacious and clean, absolutely fantastic view from the terrace 👍 You get a big croissant, chocolate spread, jam, bread, butter, yoghurt, orange juice and coffee for breakfast Overall it was a great value for money

Location was great, however, it was quite at the top so had to do lots of steps - 622, I counted 😅 The hosts were friendly and helpful regarding transport queries. Breakfast was simple and same everyday. I stayed for 3 nights, so by the time it was my last breakfast, I was bored of the same menu. Anyways, the room was spacious with lovely view and hosts were great.

NetherlandsThe bed wasn't the most comfortable, a bit hard and with a gap in the middle. They only serve a sweet breakfast, a bit more variety would have been great (though this is very normal in Italy of course, and we did enjoy it)
The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The decor is a bit old school but it fits the area and has a lot of charme. Everything was clean and well maintained. We absolutely loved our balcony and the breathtaking view over Positano! Gorgeous. The location is also very good, there are a few bars and restaurants nearby but otherwise the area is a bit quieter than the centre (which isn't far either - though everything in Positano involves many stairs). The morning breakfast on the terrace is a great way to start the day.

IrelandBreakfast. A buffet breakfast would have been preferred and better coffee and tea. As it was, a set breakfast was served, and if you wanted anything changed or extra you had to ask. All requests were facilitated. but I would have preferred a buffet style breakfast where you make our own choices.
The rooms were very good and retained all of the character of the B&B. Views from the rooms were very good and there were sufficient restaurants/facilities nearby up the slope from the B&B. In one of the reviews the owner was referred to as having your own Italian Nana for the duration of your stay and yes it was like that.
