Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandNot much not to like! The parking and road through the place is very tight. If you are driving here, a small car is the best option. We managed ok with a Renault Clio. Mosquitoes were annoying but you can't do much about those other than stock up on bug spray and citronella candles!
The location of Baia Serena which is perched on a hill overlooking the sea could not be more perfect. There are stunning views of Sorrento, Vesuvius and lots of the wonderful Italian coastline. It's absolutely breathtaking. Giuseppe and Rosa are the perfect hosts. They go above and beyond to ensure you enjoy your stay and share lots of helpful information about the locality. Chalets are basic but spotlessly clean. Everyone we met was friendly and cheerful. It's a perfect spot to sit and relax and enjoy the natural beauty. There are lots of birds in the trees and little lizards running around. Our chalet was amongst the fig trees and we were lucky to have a few ripe enough to sample! It is very hilly and there are steps to get to most chalets and the restaurant/bar area - not somewhere to go if you have any mobility issues. We loved our stay and would have no hesitation in going back. Thank you Giuseppe, Rosa and family.

United KingdomI found the bed really hard and you couldn't close the bedroom door as the bedroom was really small therefore the bed took up all the room.
We Loved the location and view from our terrace and the hosts were really nice and helpful. It was nice having a second room with a sofa bed that we could use as a little lounge

ItalyIt was almost impossible to get to sorrento and positano just a location in the middle of nowhere on a dangerous road(by a bus stop but bus is so inconsistent)
It was so unique and small and was nice to be so close with the owners. They were such a sweet couple.

What a beautiful location! It's a bit of a climb, because it's against a rock wall, but otherwise great. Lovely swimming pool with beautiful views over the Mediterranean Sea. Staff is nothing short of wonderful. What friendly and sweet people. They will help you with absolutely everything!

United KingdomAccess to car parking was a little tricky but that was only because my car rental agency messed up and gave me a huge mercedes instead of the car I had requested. By the second day I got used to navigating the corners however
The views from our room and from the terrace of the restaurant was fantastic. Dinner at the restaurant watching the sun set over the sorrento coast was brilliant. Joseph and his family who run the place are super friendly and helpful

United KingdomWe found it a little difficult with my elderly mum as our room was at the bottom of the hillside, however it was fine for the rest of us!
We had a lovely sea view room, which we all loved! The rooms are a little dated, but it was very clean and comfortable, as were all the facilities available.

United KingdomThe site was quite hilly, but that is no fault of anyone, of course. It is quite difficult to park if you are taking a car, and parking generally on the Amalfi Coast is very limited. I would advise not taking a car and using public transport wherever possible. The buses run every hour from Baia Serena into town, so it is quite convenient. The trains to Sorrento are also very frequent
The views from the property were excellent, and the pool are was very nice. The accommodation is basic, but perfectly adequate. The staff were friendly and very approachable as well.

Swedenif you dont have the car it may be a challenge as your entire schedule will be planned based on timings of only one bus which runs every 1.5-2 hrs. you will easily lose 3 hrs of vacation time everyday. our chalet was located so much down in the property that everyday while coming to the main road to catch bus it felt like a challenge. It is quite steep walk. The nearest grocery store is 500-600m away but on a steep path which is quite tiring. The washroom wasnt in perfect condition If you are in habit of walking everyday then maybe you will manage but otherwise it is tiring.
the view from the chalet is amazing and totally worth it The manager guiseppe who is quite nice and helped us with our queries Kitchen was Ok and wifi worked fine except one night when it just stopped working.

United KingdomThe bungalow although spotlessly clean were old and worn. It didn't ruin our stay though.
Views were excellent, a quiet and friendly site with a few restaurants within walking distance. Transport ran regularly and a good base for Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento.

NetherlandsThe chalets are becoming a bit older and some maintenance will be needed, our chalet did not exactly match the description and pics on Booking, narrow steep road down not so ideal for longer cars, better park those up hill.

IrelandWe hired a large car and didn’t realise just how narrow the road was into the properly. It’s quirky. Don’t go there if you can’t walk up a few steps or up small hills. It’s the people running the place that make it, to be honest. Pool was lovely. Main road is very very busy. We just didn’t know the area. Would love to go back another time. Just with a smaller car.
Lovely friendly people running the place.
