How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewVery nice small holiday resort. Everything is clean, new, nice garden and flowers all around the resort. Appartment was Very nice, new furniture, comfortable beds. Clean. I do also appreciate the animator's team. Very nice group of young people, good program during a Day as well as ať the night. The shuttle Bus also Very good. The older driver always smiling and saying "hellloooo." Which was Very nice! There is Tropea town where you can buy whatever is needed. There are restaurant, Bars... We have really enjoyed the stay ať the Eden Hotel. I recommend that to everyone even if I will raise some potencials for improvement Bellow:-)
Bellow lowlights are not a real lowlights. Those are mostly potentials for improvement or information to other clients. Kitchen: no microwave, no electric kettle. The shop is too expensive. The pool is closed from 1 to 4. It also depends who is your neighbour. Second half of our stay, new familly moved next to our appartment and they were so noisy, screaming...that we did not hear each other:-(

Verified reviewIt's a nice place with its own beautiful beach and wonderful views of the sea. The sea is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen, it’s calm, and you can see fish swimming near the coast. There are activities like kayaking, pedal boats, or snorkeling. You can swim, or why not just float and relax there The hotel has a shuttle that goes from the pool to the restaurants and back. There is also a mini market that’s handy for picking up some groceries you might need. The restaurant is nice, with a balcony that overlooks the whole beach. The food is good — breakfast, lunch, dinner, and drinks. There is space designed for little ones — the pool is one of them — but adults can enjoy it as well. The hotel is close to Tropea (about 30 minutes by car) each ride 30€ or you can pay in the reception the round trip 70€. It’s a beautiful town with lovely beaches. If you go there, you can choose to stay at a public beach free of charge (but you’ll need to bring your own parasol), or you can pay €35 for the day and have a parasol, two sunbeds, and be close to the bar. This beach is near the port, but it’s not the first one, the first beach is small and public. The second one, with the restaurant and bar, is the one where you pay and can stay all day. We'll come back!
Well, one of the problems is that not everyone speaks English, and they don’t explain things very well. The hotel is quite far from the airport, about an hour away, so you need transportation to get there and back. When we called, they told us that transport was included. Yes, it’s “included” — for €200: €100 to pick you up from the airport and €100 to take you back. This was our first misunderstanding. When we arrived, the receptionist immediately started charging us but didn’t explain that it was €100 per ride. Okay, we paid. Another extra charge was €55 for arriving after midnight. They never mentioned this, and we had called twice before the trip — they knew our schedule. But okay, there was nothing we could do; you’re in the middle of nowhere at midnight. They offer all the facilities, transport, and tours, but you can save money if you plan ahead. On Booking.com they list the activities available, and you can easily find transport online yourself. Another thing we didn’t like was the pool schedule. It’s only open from 9 AM to 12 PM and then from 4 PM to 8 PM. We believe that with good protective measures, the pool could stay open all day, from 9 AM to 8 PM. They say the restricted hours are because of the strong sun at midday, but the same sun is at the beach, and that doesn’t close! Also, when the lifeguard has a day off, the pool just stays without a guard. There were jellyfish, not many; we saw one. But it stung a girl the day before we went out on a pedal boat. When the girl was stung, the lifeguards put aloe vera on her, but no one warned the people who were still in the water. Only those on the beach found out because of the girl’s screams. The next day, when we saw a jellyfish, we told the lifeguard. The only response was, “Yes, it’s piccola (tiny),” and nothing more — no warning, no sign, nothing. We’d come back, now that we know this and can look after our own safety. It's a Paradise!

Verified reviewThe location is extremely beautiful for a beach holiday and situated in a lovely garden.Very peaceful and relaxing. The apartment was spacious and private close to the mini market and pool The restaurant serves great pizzas The shuttle up and down the hill is fantastic and well needed
We found the different times for different menus a little confusing The check in time is also very late The mini market is truly under stocked The shower could have been cleaner It would be helpful if basic cleaning aids were provided as it’s a nuisance to have to buy everything I think providing soap in the bathroom would also be a benefit

Verified reviewThe calm of its surroundings, the closeness to facilities like pool and market. The fact that the parking space was just behind our accommodation and the sun beds being part of the deal (very useful when you travel with backpacks and have limited space). The fact that our accommodation was independent. The little terrace. The kindness of the staff and the shuffle service.
Just the fact that you need to buy things like dish soap or toilet paper and when you stay just a few days, if you cannot take these things home with you, they go to waste. I would recommend selling smaller size items in the market.
