The owner puts a lot of personal attention into this place. It's decorated with charm and style. The breakfast was superb: freshly cooked Sicilian specialities, with ingredients according to season and really delicious.

Location, beautiful surroundings, hosts were very friendly and welcoming, breakfast was local and delicious. We were able to borrow plates, glasses and cutlery after buying some food and drink from the local supermarket.

Such a warm welcome from the whole family (happily answering many questions from the children and husband). Stunning location. The kids loved the pool and the animals. Great breakfast and the BBQ was amazing. A real highlight of our trip. We would happily have stayed far longer!

What a gem of a place to stay! Before arriving, we had excellent communication from Vincenzo so we knew exactly what to expect - and had hired a car to help us navigate the road! The family were incredibly helpful, suggesting local restaurants making sure we had everything we needed. The breakfast of home grown produce was divine. Every afternoon, we received a message with the evening menu. If enough guests were interested, the hosts would prepare dinner. We had the chance to join once, and although we were originally hoping for a BBQ, the menu changed to a vegetarian meal to accommodate other guests. The food was still absolutely delicious – fresh and homemade – but we couldn't help feeling a little disappointed to miss out on the barbecue. Getting to the villa involves a bit of a rough road, but it’s totally manageable – nothing to stress about. Do keep in mind that there are many animals on the property: donkey, pigs, chickens, peacocks, and several dogs. The dogs are friendly and laid-back, often lying next to your table – sometimes even leaving a little pee behind. It’s part of the charm, though you do need to be okay with that kind of rural, lively setting. The air conditioning in our room didn’t work very well – it was one of the older units – but we heard that some rooms have newer systems,

We spent a few nights at Villa San Marco and felt truly welcome from the very first moment. The hosts are incredibly kind and genuine, always ready to help or simply have a friendly chat. One of the small things that makes a big difference is the fridge filled with drinks – wine, beer, and soft drinks. You can take what you like and pay later; they rely on your honesty, which says a lot about the trust and vibe they create here. The swimming pool is child-friendly, about 1.20 m deep – not too big, but perfect for a refreshing dip. The water was a bit cloudy during our stay, but nothing that really bothered us. Breakfast was one of our favorite parts of the stay: fresh vegetables, yogurt, fruit, homemade jams, eggs… everything prepared with love and care. A perfect way to start the day, especially with the stunning view of the Valley of the Temples in the background. Villa San Marco is a unique place full of heart and character.

This is a perfect place to visit the temples and Agrigento while relaxing in the middle of the fields. You can imagine what should look like around greek times in that area. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is like visiting the family that lives in the countryside. The breakfast was worth it, we couldn't finish it! And the views are incredible, the ones that create a memory. The road to arrive is a dirty road, as they explained several times prior to our arrival. It is not technical or difficult, just bumpy. I wish we could stay longer to know more about the place and the staff. If you like animals, it's a bonus to be able to pet the dogs and observe the other animals. In our room, the WiFi worked fine and there were all the essentials in case you wanted to prepare a meal.

A little hard to drive into if you have a larger vehicle.

Really unique. Fun and well appointed rooms (not luxurious). Fun and welcoming family owners. Nice pool and fun pets and farm animals for a diversion. Very close to agrigento.

The pool was refreshing and clean enough but could do with a little makeover to improve its presentation.

We loved the rustic charm, breathtaking views of the temples, the beautiful host family, the spacious yet homely and cosy apartment, the delightful menagerie of farm animals and the scrumptious homemade breakfast.

The bed was a little springy for me, but it was comfortable enough that it didn't affect my sleep.

Over 20 days, we stayed in 11 different lodgings in Sicily and Southern Italy, and this was one of the best places we stayed. The location next to the Valley of Temples was perfect and the views of the Temples from the patio were amazing. The food was outstanding (breakfast and dinner). Vicenzo, Merghertia and Claudio were great hosts. The room was large and clean. We also enjoyed all the animals, especially the dogs. The drive on the dirt road for a short distance was no big deal. Overall, great value, great B&B - I would definitely stay there again.

Gluten free options for breakfast.

The setting of the property is magnificent with rambling gardens, grottos and nooks to sit and relax. The breakfast was magnificent although there were few options for a gluten free person - suggest purchasing some GF bread which could be used with eggs or the home made spreads. The staff were very friendly and really made us feel at home. The directions to reach the property were very detailed and clear and communication with the hosts was excellent.

I can't think of anything bad about the place.

It was a lodging experience that no other place could provide. While I was sitting in the garden, a peacock came and spread its feathers, and a dog came and comforted me. Dining while looking at the ancient palace and taking a walk in nature were wonderful experiences I could never get anywhere else. I will never forget how wonderful the breakfast was.
