We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.

NetherlandsWe had some very strange interactions with the staff. To begin with, they had a poorly constructed portal for document check in which worked for 2/4 people in our group. So we sent our documents to one of the WhatsApp numbers provided (there were 2 staff members listed). We would send our info to one person, then the other staff member would call and message us and demand the documents that we already sent to the other. Then we would call back, and that person would tell us not to call her, but to call her colleague. Then we’d get a call from her number, but it was her colleague on the line, also asking us for our documents. When we got to the property, a man who did not speak English let us in (apparently the gardener).Then we got a call from the staff that we hadn’t finished check in and should not be in the property yet, getting mad at us that we were already there. Very confusing and negative experience. In addition, there were only 3 rooms ready. The 4th room is in a side house, and it smelled like mold and did not have a bed (there were exercise machines in there instead). When we called the staff, they said we were only 4 people so they only set up 3 rooms, and if we wanted 4, we should have called them ahead of time. This makes no sense, if you list 4 rooms on your listing, there should be 4 rooms ready. We specifically booked this larger and more expensive place so that each person could have privacy. It unfortunate that though the house is 5 star quality (with a high price to match), the staff was unprofessional and left a blemish on an otherwise good experience.
The property is beautiful, has a wonderful location on the hill, expansive views of the lake. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet at night. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and the balcony.

United StatesWe experienced traffic on the way from Milan and arrived a few minutes beyond our stated time. I used WhatsApp to inform the management company "Wonderful Italy" (to no reply). When we arrived, the lady who checked us in was pissed we were a few minutes late because she had to "catch the ferry to Bellagio." We got a very cursory introduction to the house which included zero instruction on any of the appliances, hot tub or air conditioning. The hot tub was set on a lukewarm temperature. There was no instruction on how to adjust it, so I used WhatsApp once again to ask if someone could assist. It took four hours for anyone to reply and then it took TWO DAYS for the gardener to finally come by. In the meantime, none of the A/C remotes worked AT ALL. There were batteries, but they wouldn't activate the units. The stove and dishwasher were very confusing, and the coffeemaker was indecipherable. I strongly suggest someone leave laminated cards with SIMPLE instructions on how to operate the major appliances in the house. I am a very technological person, but it didn't help. Wonderful Italy is very demanding about checkout and cleaning requirements for guests. They get an AAA+++ for the timeliness, the insistence, and the threats if we don't clean up properly, but when it comes to ANY guest questions or problems, they are NOWHERE TO BE FOUND! Immediately after receiving their cleaning notice on WhatsApp, I inquired about more trash bags..... IT TOOK SIX HOURS TO RESPOND. For hosting, they get an FFF ---. The owners of this villa should be embarrassed by the company representing them.
The villa itself is awesome. The size of the property and the amenities are fantastic. The location was perfect for us (because we had a car). Regarding the views and the quality of the property setting, it is truly one of the best places we've stayed.

The location was excellent, our view was fantastic. The house and grounds were clean and well kept.

United StatesHard to get to if you do not have a car or drop off service. You can walk to and from the town but the hill is massive and would be hard with suitcases.
Such a beautiful villa on the hill with breathtaking views! The pool was wonderful for the kids to play and have fun! The house was clean and cool with air conditioning. Super clean!!!

This property is absolutely perfect and pristine. Centrally located and 2 min drive to ferry. Interior was top quality with high functionality and extremely comfortable with views of the lake from the bedrooms and a huge picturesque window In the lounge. Not a speck of dirt was found in the swimming pool and the jacuzzi was ready to go on arrival. 10 stars to whoever is managing this property!

United StatesWe loved the place but we did not look forward to the walk back up the hill to get home from touring/dining. But worth the struggle for the amazingness of this place.
This place is amazing. Such a gorgeous view (really can't be beat) and close to a town with good transportation by boat or train. If I didn't want to tour lake como area I would have been fine sitting out at the pool the entire vacation. Lovely for enjoying outdoor breakfast on any of the patios. Access was great with a lockbox at the gate. Full kitchen and a laundry with washer and dryer.

United StatesThere is only one full bath for the 3 bedrooms in the main house. It would be difficult to accommodate more than 6 people in the main house with the shower situation. The guest house has it's own full bath so is great for an additional couple. In my opinion and depending on how high maintenance the guests are, 6 adult (3 couples) and maybe 2-4 children would be a comfortable arrangement.
The property manager met us at the villa to give us a nice welcome tour with instructions. It was by far the best check-in/out experience I've ever had. The location was perfect for us...10 minute walk to Varenna center and the ferry boats. Views were absolutely amazing from everywhere on the property. Beds were comfortable and the home is very spacious and clean!

United StatesWalk to town down an ancient stone path takes 10 minutes, but walk back requires much more energy. Not a problem for the young and fit. For older guests, better to have a car or call taxi.
