Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe Air conditioners in all rooms need a desperate update. The current ones are way too old and probably not cleaned and serviced enough.
A Dreamy Tuscan Villa Stay – Highlight of Our Italian Road Trip This villa was the absolute highlight of our Italian road trip. Nestled among cypress-lined pathways, its entrance alone sets the tone for a serene and picturesque escape. Surrounded by its own vineyard and olive orchards, the property offers breathtaking views and a true taste of Tuscany. The restaurant overlooks the sunset, making every dinner a memorable experience. The rooms are spacious, and the bathrooms are generously sized, adding to the comfort of the stay. One of our favourite features was the pool set amidst olive trees—a peaceful spot to relax, read, and watch the kids play. The pool is open from morning to late evening. I was able to swim quite a few laps as well. With fewer rooms than large resorts, the atmosphere is calm, clean, and never overcrowded. The villa produces its own wine and olive oil, and the staff are incredibly polite and courteous. A special mention goes to Giona, who went above and beyond to make our stay special, especially for my husband’s 40th birthday. The food was outstanding—freshly prepared and full of flavour. The pasta with tomato and aubergine was hands down the best we’ve ever had. For a potato lover like me, the roast potatoes were amazingly seasoned and soooo good. We tried every dessert on the menu, and each one was exceptional. Their house-baked biscotti was a lovely treat too. Breakfast was just right—a mix of sweet items, boiled eggs, cereals, cheese, bread, coffee, and juices. It was perfect for making a quick sandwich and starting the day without needing to venture out early. Our kids especially loved the sweet options! The villa’s location also makes it easy to explore nearby towns like Montepulciano and Siena, which is just about 1 hour and 15 minutes away. This stay was everything we hoped for and more—peaceful, scenic, and full of warmth. We would return in a heartbeat.

SwedenThe AC did not work well and we had over 31°C in our room at night, not suitable for a small child in the summer. But do book this when it’s a bit cooler outside, you’d love it!
The houses and views were breathtaking. We liked that the property was well taken care of and cleaned every day. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The property was close to the pool area located in an olive garden wich made it feel so relaxing. The restaurant had the best view, definitely a must with great food, and wine of course!

Room was gorgeous with a very comfortable bed and overall cleanliness was 10/10. Host was great, he explained everything to us and overall the staff was very friendly. I had the most amazing stay in the tuscan region. Highly recommended if anyone would like to feel the Tuscan life.

TurkeyThere was a group of 10-12 women who were terribly loud, but the management made the necessary warnings and they started living like normal people. Of course, this is not the fault of the facility, but unfortunately there are people like this in the world.
Excellent location, Easily visit many towns and villages in Toscana, Beautiful Montepulciano is 6mins by car. Very good breakfast by country standards. You can enjoy the sunset from the restaurant with a view of Tuscany.

CanadaCheck-in time between noon and 3 PM is closed, and they are strict about it — something we didn’t know until the day before. Had I known earlier, I would have planned our trip differently. We landed in Rome and drove straight to the property in the afternoon, but had to wait until 3 PM for reception to open. We were very tired from the overnight flight and drive and just wanted to get into our room. It would have been great if check-in time was more flexible. The air conditioning didn’t work on the first night — it was extremely hot, and we couldn’t sleep. We had to wait until reception opened the next day, but thankfully, the issue was addressed quickly. I believe this should have been checked during room preparation before a new guest arrives. Wi-Fi reception was weak, and there was noticeable noise from the nearby highway.

GreeceThe accommodation is very close to Montepulsiano less than 5 minutes by car. Comfortable parking area. The room was spacious and clean. When we entered the room the atmosphere was very pleasant because they had the air conditioning on. After a hot day this was the best. The breakfast was simply excellent. AustraliaWe booked a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom room for 2 couples however I think the configuration would have suited a family better as the bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom. It was still fine but I should have paid more attention to this when booking.
We loved everything about this property. The grounds and buildings are stunning with the grape vines and olive trees. We ate at the restaurant twice because it was so delicious with a lovely sunset view. We were also able to do a wine tasting with wines from the property before dinner which we enjoyed. The breakfast was really good also. It is a short drive to the picturesque town of Montepulciano. Our rooms were refreshed each day also. The pool area was quite popular but we were always able to get a lounger. I would love to come back here one day.

It is such a beautiful Italian-style hotel. It lies in the hills just outside of Montepulciano. You can get to the centre by car, and still enjoy the quiet surrounding of the hotel. The swimming pool is so relaxing, especially combined with the Nottal Wine. This is Tuscany!
