Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsThe only minus is sharing the hair dryer with others. It’s located in the hallway and one night somebody took it and never returned. Luckily, the staff provided me with another one.
This villa is a monastery in the past - it’s so unique to stay in there! We had an amazing view from our room on Florence. Inside the furniture was ascetic but we thought it was cool. Everything was oldish and the floor not straight - but it had such a charm! Breakfast was nice and they made different sweet pastry every morning. Staff were super nice and they cleaned every day! I loved this place!!! It’s so beautiful and peaceful. In the village nearby they have amazing restaurants too! And to get to the city just take a bus number 10 from Settignano. Ang go explore the village - it’s so beautiful!!!!

PolandYou can clearly notice that the rooms are not up to date and could be refreshed. However price to value ratio is great, so it didn’t really bother us.
A great, affordable place away from the Florence crowds, easily accessible by bus number 10. You can feel the history of the place surrounding you. Nice staff. Amazing views from your window guaranteed.

United Arab EmiratesThere is no ac- (but they provided us with an extra fan when we requested). No kettle in the room (but they brought us hot water when we requested)
Quaint building next to a church. It used to be a monastery. The views from the room were breathtaking. The rooms were simple but decent. It is like a hostel- so don't expect hotel facilities. (That's what the staff told us- they regularly host school/college students from America on exchange programs) Just outside Florence- there is a bus stop nearby but we had taken a rental car. There is ample parking space- the way to the place is a bit of an adventure- winding up hill roads (better to get a small sized car if possible) it was slightly cooler than in the city. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Maria, Karen and one more guy I don't remember his name) Breakfast is very simple.

NorwaySome comments said it was good breakfast. I was hoping for better one. I am used to rich healthy home made breakfast with a lot of savory options. Here I got very simple one with white bred. Not much choice.

United StatesI liked the charming Villa, its surroundings and the breath taking view out of my window overlooking the city. The flair of the former Monastery in the hills added to my experience of Florence. The bus stop was in walking distance. The Host was very helpful. Parking was free and easy on site. I would have liked to stay longer and I am hoping to come back again.

HungaryRoom is a bit dusty. Too many carbs for breakfast, proteins are missing.
Perfect location, calm and silent place. Fresh air, birdsongs in the morning and cicadas in the evening. 7 min walk to the bus stop, 20 min by bus to Florence. Busses run every 20 min. Tickets can be bought in the hotel.

NetherlandsLackluster Room Decor: The room decor at Villa Morghen left much to be desired. It felt lacking or poorly executed, which affected the overall aesthetic appeal of the space. More attention to detail in the decoration could greatly enhance the ambiance and create a more inviting atmosphere. Average Beds: While the beds were acceptable, they did not meet the expectations of a high-quality hotel. They lacked the utmost comfort and luxurious feel that one would hope for during their stay. Limited Breakfast Selection: As anticipated from prior reviews, the breakfast options at Villa Morghen were quite limited. While this was expected, it would be beneficial for the hotel to expand the variety of offerings to cater to a broader range of tastes and preferences.
Enchanting Castle/Villa: Villa Morghen truly embodies the charm of a fairytale castle. Its unique architecture and picturesque surroundings create a magical atmosphere that adds a touch of romance and whimsy to the stay. Spacious Rooms: I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room at Villa Morghen. The spaciousness provided ample room to relax and move around comfortably, adding to the overall comfort of the stay. Attentive Employees: The hotel staff at Villa Morghen were kind, helpful, and provided excellent service throughout my stay. Their warm and welcoming demeanor enhanced the overall experience, making me feel valued as a guest. Breathtaking Views: The view from the villa was simply breathtaking. Whether it was the sweeping vistas of the Florentine hills or the charming garden scenery, the natural beauty surrounding Villa Morghen added an extra layer of tranquility and serenity to the stay. Value for Money: One notable advantage of Villa Morghen is its relatively affordable pricing compared to other accommodations in Florence. The 20-minute drive from the parking garage may seem inconvenient to some, but for the value offered, it can be seen as a reasonable compromise.

Canada- just a bit far from the city but the value was good for us (we took a taxi from the centre the first night and it cost us €20
- close to bus stop (40 mins total to centre) - rooms were spacious - staff were really kind and helpful - can purchase bus tickets from front desk (€1,50) - breakfast served every morning (basic but enough) - quiet at night, gets a bit cold so an extra blanket may be needed which can be found in the dressers) - bed was made everyday

ItalyThe address provided was not the best way to access the property. I didn’t have breakfast, although popped in for a coffee from the machine. Anyone who favours Italian style coffee should know that this machine is best avoided.
I understood the background to the property and knew that some facilities would be basic and dated. However the experience far exceeded all expectations and was one to treasure. The staff were, in a word, exceptional. The room was very clean, the towels large and generous, the view spectacular, and bed comfortable. Despite it being a hot day, the room was not hot, and the fan provided more than adequate cooling in the hottest part of the evening.

SingaporeThe rooms understandably were abit cold as the building is old. However, the sheets were great and kept us warm.
The property had the most amazing views of Florence and was an extremely unique stay in a monastery. The breakfast spread has improved from the earlier reviews and was extremely delightful! It was an amazing experience💯

United KingdomThe villa is very basic. Our room had 5 beds but none of them were very comfortable . The villa is home to a Byzantine American School (which isn't mentioned in the listing) and although the students didn't bother us they could be a bit noisy at times. There were only 2 sockets and both were hanging off the wall so dangerous to use. The villa is around a 5 minute walk to the centre of the village but the walk was quite steep and a part of the path is very uneven.
The views are spectacular. There was a good continental breakfast included. Bedding was crisp and clean. A peaceful setting but with a great bus service into the city every 20 minutes and runs until midnight.
