How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Great family-driven hotel driven by the sweetest family ever! Villa Maris is cozy, with a great location and a stunning terrace with a sea view. I highly recommend to stay here in order to feel yourself like home, getting the best treatment and great tips about where to eat the best piadina, etc :)

Truly warm hospitality during our recent stay. From the moment we arrived, we felt truly welcome and at home. Friendliness, cozy atmosphere, helpfulness, and genuine care made our time in Rimini not only comfortable but also full of wonderful emotions and beautiful memories. It was clear that every detail was prepared with heart, and we truly appreciated it. We hope to return someday and will warmly recommend Villa Maris to our friends and family.

There was no fridge in the room, but we asked the hotel owners to store our food in the kitchen fridge, and it was fine
I was absolutely delighted with the owners of this hotel. They were so welcoming, kind, and hospitable that I genuinely felt like I was staying not in a hotel, but in the home of an Italian family. I think this was the best experience I’ve ever had, thanks to the hosts’ attitude. The only thing I regretted was not knowing Italian, as I would have loved to talk with them more. As for the rest, the breakfasts were incredibly tasty, especially the homemade pies. The first floor and the outdoor area had plenty of space to relax and enjoy a coffee. The room itself was quite simple, but to me, it was cozy, bright, and stylishly done

Always was great
This is real family business. Mom, grandmom, kids and relatives. All of one is great. Petra says always’Here is not a hotel, your home’.

The owners are very kind, it's homely atmosphere. Very clean, cute and creative interior with balcony and rooftop. Excellent breakfast. Location at the beach and private parking

Wasn't able to make friends with Otto, the older dog!! The en-suite facilities were small but usable and adequate, (simply due to structure and age of building). Parking in the area, other than on site, was full usually. (Explored the marina area where parking is available)
Hospitality and friendliness of the whole family in the business. Nothing a problem. Could not overstate the welcome and genuine care. Outstanding service, from organising parking to free coffee. Great variety for breakfast. Scrambled eggs available, too! Loved the air conditioning in the room as temperature outside soared. Room adequate with lovely small balcony to sit and read on an evening. Roof sun terrace with tables, chairs and a recliner, but too hot to take advantage!! Excellent value for money. Unreserved recommendation.

The bed wasn’t super comfortable and I didn’t feel super safe at the property as a solo traveller
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was amazing quality. The location was very close to the beach and restaurants also which made it easy to navigate the city

The bathroom was pretty small, and the shower was on the ceiling with a dedicated space for it. Although I was shocked at first and you get your bathroom wet, it dries up quickly. It is not the best location if you want to experience the hectic nightlife in Rimini, which is taking place somewhere else. This area is mostly cozy and laid back.
The hotel is run by family so you get a very warm welcome. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel was super clean, and they had a fantastic cozy terrace.

Only "problem" was no shower stall and soaking the bathroom when showering. Had to remove toilet paper and my toiletry bag before showering.
There was no shower stall in the bathroom, everything in the bathroom was soaked after showering. That was my only complaint. Very friendly and helpful hosts. One minute walk to the beach. Excellent location. No breakfast but the hostess walked me to a beach bar very close by. Hosts were extremely helpful.

Unfortunately, the wifi from the reception didn't cover my room. There are sometimes people being loud in the corridor. The owner's dogs bark regularly.
The room is small but clean and spacious enough for one person. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The location of the place was very close to the beach.
