Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot the fault of the owners, but guests should be aware it is a moderate uphill climb from the town square, and should be taken into consideration.
Very nice, quaint little villa, situated relatively close to the center (though uphill); great for easy access to bus stops and cable car stations. All was very clean and quiet; very helpful and friendly staff, with useful tips for the area. Also nice breakfast spread options and good coffee!

AustraliaThe stay was too short. There's nothing to be disappointed about.
Top notch. We loved the place. The business is family owned and this showed in the way the accomodation is presented. The family are amazing. The food was so so good and we never left a meal feeling hungry. The chef is an amazing cook, supported by his lovely wife, and his parents. We ate dinner there instead of going down town and it was a 5 course meal that was to die for. I'm a hard marker but these people absolutely nail it. The view from the rooms are stunning and the facilities are great too. I would recommend this place to anyone. The owners keep this place in great order. Everything works! The cleaners are long term staff and really are a part of the family. This shows in their presence and attention to detail/quality.

Very clean and comfortable room, exceptional staff (especially Katerina!), great views. Dinner was fabulous (not included in the price but a great value) and the breakfast was a step above the norm with the inclusion of eggs ordered how you want.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel. The owners and staff are very welcoming and helpful. We we're also very happy with the location. It's a bit uphill in a relaxed area, but still a short and easy walk into town. Perfect after a long day of hiking. The room is super clean, there's free parking and a great breakfast with lots of options and plenty of good food. Would definitely stay here again.

United StatesThe only thing I didn't like was the very steep uphill climb from the center of Ortisei to reach this lovely hotel. Villa Luise is perched on a steep slope with gorgeous views of the town and its valley below and surrounding mountains. It's only about a1 km walk but almost entirely uphill getting steeper as you get closer. The last 100 meters is the hardest! For an out of shape older gentleman who doesn't drive in Europe like myself this was very daunting. I had to take a taxi for 15 euro to get to my bed at the end of the day of hiking. But if you have a car this is not a concern at all and I highly recommend staying at Villa Luisa. Therre are two bus stops not too far away but again very steep climb to get back and only one bus an hour for the closest. The free local bus pass was a great extra and it got me to Passo Gardena for free but trying to get on a bus back to Bolzano was near impossible- they were always full at 10:00-11:30 when I was trying to board. After three failed attempts I ended up splitting a taxi to Bolzano (110 euro split four ways) with three Japanese ladies who also couldn't seem to get on the bus after stowing our luggage in the hold- by the time we did that there was no space left for us and we had to scramble to get our bags back before the full bus pulled away.
I got a lovely room on the first floor with a balcony overlooking the mountains- just perfect. The wifi was super- fast and very dependable. The bed was comfortable as was the temperature in the room due to the mountain location. Breakfast was the usual continental type of fare- muesli and various cereals, some pastry both fresh and prepackaged cakes, a plate of cold cut meats and cheese for each guest, eggs made any way you want them, juice etc. They also offer a dinner plan for 30 euro- starting with a diverse and interesting array of vegetables cooked and uncooked for a salad course, an appetizer course pasta and/or delicious soups (I had seconds), and a main course- each meal lovingly prepared and presented by the chef Mirko and served by the very friendly and helpful server Katarina who took care of my every need and request. I don't eat fish and Katarina made sure I had a nice grilled steak instead of fish one night. The first night, after ascending the slope arriving by bus from Bolzano to reach the hotel with the aid of a local fireman! who pulled my bag along in a thunderstorm, the dinner space was completely sold out so Katarina saw that I got a charcuterie plate, and a bowl of delicious soup to eat in my room. Villa Luise feels like family- grazie und danke Katarina and Mirko.
