Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

We were met on arrival by David, who poured us both a glass of Prosecco. He made our stay so special. The breakfast was great, plenty of choice and delicious fresh juices. The view from the pool was beautiful, taking in the vineyards. We were going to go out for dinner, but loved the place so much we dined at the restaurant. It was incredible! The somelier recommended a 2021 Valpolicella, which was exquisite.

United StatesRoom 4 had a stained bed headboard which either needs to be steam cleaned or refurbished but it wasn’t a break it situation.
The most amazing experience we’ve ever had. The hospitality was exceptional. The grounds are beautiful. The staff is wonderful. The food is AMAZING. The Buki family cherished the time we spent here. Even though it was only 2 days, we had the most amazing leisurely experience with top notch service. Especially David, Vito, and Anna. But all the staff was amazing. And the location was only about 15-20 minutes from Verona center. So easy to drive there and back and the free parking on site was a plus as well. The pool was huge and had a beautiful view. Cannot recommend this place enough.

United StatesVilla Giona is a like entering a wonderful dream world. David and his team are attentive, professional, kind and warm. The Villa and the grounds are spectacular, gardens of grape vines, olive, lemon, lime, fig and other fruit trees, fountains, very old statues of Roman gods, gorgeous long pool with an amazing view, shaded couches by the pool. Outdoor dining. Wine bar. Live music one night. It is quite a fancy place, but relaxing, never feeling stiff, always a warm welcome from staff. Good prices for food and wine also. Food is great. Local options on wine, and not expensive. The breakfast is amazing, they even made us eggs to order everyday. Cheese, meats, fruits, nuts, yogurt, pastry, etc. I loved the "accessory rooms", located next to the pool, that provide apartment-sized space (living room, separate upstairs bedroom, kitchen area (no stove), standing showers comfortable sized. The left accessory room has beautiful decor, while the right has three beds (two in living room, one upstairs). Comfort double rooms are too small for my excessive luggage. I have also stayed in the balcony room last year, huge single room, beautiful place to have a morning coffee. The room just above that one has a Juliet balcony, also very large, and contains a small bed with a divider wall from the larger bed (great room if you have a child with you). Large bathtubs in both of these rooms. Water pressure/warmth is perfect. Beds very comfortable. Small fridges perfect for some water and snacks. Some of our family stayed in the suite room, which has a larger fridge, fold out couch, and upstairs bedroom. I travel extensively, and never review (I leave a very small digital footprint). But this Villa is one of my favorite places to visit. We just had a small family reunion and David and his staff took such good care of us all. I just traveled throughout Italy, six weeks, 12 hotels, none were this nice. Thank you for an amazing vacation. We cannot wait to return again.

AustriaUnique hotel, lovely inner courtyard, very friendly staff and exceptional stay. The breakfast was very relaxing with a beautiful view and the additional bar in the evening for late night cocktails was top grade (prices are very reasonable). Everything was perfect and we are probably gonna stay here again if we are in that region again.

SwitzerlandThe cobbled, fairly steep access to the swimming pool area, while charming and atmospheric, could be a bit better adapted for elderly or frail guests (not our case, but one imagines what it must be like for them). Handrails in a suitably matching style seem indispensable for safety, and should be installed. The annex underneath the swimming pool, with its toilets, was out of bounds throughout our six-day stay. Given the time and effort required to get to the nearest toilets (which are in the main building) and back, it is essential to keep the pool's WC open for guests.
This 16th century estate is an architectural and aesthetic gem. It's beautifully maintained, while retainining its historical authenticity -- it's not runined by overgrooming and excessive restoration, as sometimes occurs in luxury hotels. It has vast and lovely landscaped grounds surrounded by the estate's own vineyards. The rooms are handsome, spacious, characterful and thoroughly comfortable. The service provided by all the staff is impeccable: efficient and always good-natured. The manager is cheerful and charming, and he makes sure that every guest's needs are satisfied. A particular plus is the excellent restaurant, which offers a refined dinner experience (for very reasonable prices) in the palazzo's gorgeous courtyard, with a central, illuminated fountain surrounded by classical statues. Large swimming pool with a wonderful panorama of hills and vineyards, in a marvellously restul setting.

BrazilTo stay at Villa Giona was by far the best decision my wife and I made during our trip to Italy. We had the best time ever. Villa Giona has the friendliest, most lovely staff. Special thanks to David, Zeno, and Romuletto, who provided us with not only everything we needed to make our time there the greatest ever, but also great laughter and good times as well. The food and wine there are some of the best in the world. This place is the loveliest, most beautiful and comfortable ever, and its surroundings are breathtaking, Villa Giona at San Pietro in Cariano is a must! Everything looks and feels like it’s out of a movie. Can’t recommend it enough!

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. The estate is amazingly beautiful with an impressive country house or even call it a small castle, in which we had a 'tower' room that was huge. The service was excellent, the food was great and the wine selection was fantastic. And all this with great value-for-money. We especially appreciated the help and advice from the director and the barman (loved the wine recommendations). Def a place to come back to!!
