Nice spacious room, great view, very close to beach, nice dinners

The only problem if I were to be picky is the towel quality. They were very rough.

The hotel was a short walk from beach, it was very clean and the rooms were spacious. The balcony had sea view, and room had alot of storage space with air conditioning. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The breakfast room was also sea view, beautiful and breakfast items were fresh baked good and coffee made to order. When we come back to Ischia, we would love to stay here again.

Reaching the hotel requires a steep 15-minute walk or using an electric taxi service, which comes at an extra cost. So, it's not the best choice for guests who prefer to avoid walking or have limited mobility. The room facilities are quite minimalistic – for example, there's no glassware or mini-fridge provided.

The balcony offers a breathtaking, elevated view of the sea – absolutely amazing! Breakfast was excellent, with a variety of freshly baked cakes or breads that changed daily. Friendly and helpful staff.

Small size of shower.

Breakfast was great. Carmen is very personable. The garden around the hotel is very beautiful. The location is very close to St Angelo. And in the walking distance to the Cavascura Hot Spring. It was a great experience to try it. We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel.

Everything was great, from the room to the coat hangers. Great thermal bath and sauna, 2 minute walking distance to fumarole beach with hot sand that keeps you warm even when it’s raining, very warm and welcoming staff, delicious breakfast with a stunning view. We loved our stay there and will gladly come back again. :-)

Would like to have free access to drinking water. I think it should be made clear that you need 13-15 euros to pay for transport to the hotel ( each way) as unless you have limited luggage it is impossible to get there by foot- steep inclines and steps.

Beautiful location and well worth the electric taxi ride to get there. Very friendly staff and having its own thermal pool was a bonus. Lovely breakfast with mesmerising views.

We could have done with a bit more pre arrival information. Walking from busstop to hotel, while it may only take 20 minutes it involves a lot of climbing. Would be nice for the hotel to provide more info on golfcart service. (Cost, location depot and how to arrange pick up from hotel) Also we would have used the hotels dining facilities if we would have had access to more info. While some of this info may have been provided on the notice board we only found this board on the day we checked out. Notwithstanding the above we highly recommend Hotel Villa Franz and would love to come and stay again.

Location, balcony with table and chairs and brilliant sea views. Room was a bit basic but this was more than made up for by location, views and proximity to beach.

It is a 10-15 minute walk to all the hotels on this side of town (which is also a good thing!) We just didn't realize that it was set up like this. (They do have 8E golf carts and water taxis that can get you there.)

The room had the most amazing view. The sea and the mountain plus the little town. The rates were good and the breakfast out on the terrace is amazing. The staff spoke English and she was lovely. A lot of people come back there. We will too

The shower cabin didn't have the hook to hang shower head.

A cosy family run hotel in quiet location and proximity of La Fumarole Beach. Breakfast was great with good selection of sweets and savouries, and always freshly made cake.We had a dinner one night and it was delicious. Rooms on the smallish side but comfortable beds, bathroom was quite narrow and shown signs of ageing. Good size balcony with a nice view, but no privacy, as you could see your neighbours from next door.

The beds were on the soft side.

The hotel is beautifully located above the beach with great views. All the plants in the garden make it very cosy, and the family running the hotel is just wonderful. They were always ready to help, and the food was exceptional. Hotel is 100 meters from the beach, it has a small pool with thermal water and sauna. The rooms are basic but clean and well maintained.

I would have loved a mini fridge in the room, just a suggestion for an improvement.

Very friendly atmosphere, it seems to stay at a friend's house. Beautiful view from our room (second floor). Breakfast has a special touch. Next time I would love to also have dinner on the terrace.

All the Hotel and our room was immaculately clean with beautiful plants everywhere. Thermally heated indoor pool was very relaxing with sauna too. Breakfast had good variety, fresh fruit, cereals, cheese, yogurts, pastries, delicious coffee - eaten outside with gorgeous sea views from the terrace. Room had a large outside terrace overlooking the sea with two sun beds and a table and chairs for two. Hotel had everything you need for a fantastic, relaxing holiday.
