Villa Contarini is a newly renovated and refurbished Venetian Villa to the highest standards with great professionality and historical charm. The en-suite room is very nice with an extremely comfortable bed and high quality bedding. The air-conditioning is very efficient. It is a huge value that you have access to the garden. The breakfast was served there and you can enjoy al-fresco dining during the day. The Villa is 10 min. walk from the vaporetto station or 2 min, walk from the bus. It is very conveniently located. The breakfast was very generous and was beyond the usual Italian style. It included not only sweet pastries but ham, cheese, fruits, nuts, joghurt, juices, coffee and tea. Michaela and Svet are excellent hosts and their guidance on history, art and architecture in Venice islands are truly valuable and should not be missed. They did all their efforts to accommodate my request and assure that I had a pleasant stay. A great thank you to make me feel at home in Villa Contarini.

The only thing we were surprised by was the private bathroom wasn't en-suite, but the bathroom was superb, just a short walk across the landing. This was our fault for not reading other reviews, which pointed out that some rooms were not en-suite. The bathroom was for our use only. Next time we will book the en-suite room.

Especially the location, 10 minutes walk from centre and the wonderful welcome from Sven. The Villa is superbly renovated and everything is clean and in great condition.

The house is very charming and well taken care of. For me, this was the first time staying at a B&B and I didn’t know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful host, Sven and had lovely conversations with him and other guests over breakfast. The highlight for me was that every morning I would wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants. So I would always start the day with a smile! Highly recommend Villa Contarini, especially if you prefer a calm and cute spot from which to explore the beautiful Venezia, which is just one short vaporetto trip away!

Our room and bathroom were beautiful and cozy. We knew we would have a private bathroom, however we thought it would be an ensuite, not a separate bathroom across the hall. We would definitely stay here again, but we would reserve the room with the bathroom attached. We really like our privacy, so having to get dressed and go outside the room to use the bathroom was not our favorite thing, but someone else might not care. But, its nice to be made aware of that in the listing. Great stay nonetheless.

Our host, Sven, was very kind and gracious. The historic building is beautiful, nicely decorated with some modern touches. Outside garden area in back is private and relaxing. Our bed & comforter was extraordinary. It was one of thee best beds we had slept in on our entire trip. Breakfast was delicious. The property was in close proximity to shops, restaurants, a quaint laundromat (location and address pictured below) and only a 10 min walk from the water taxi port.

I expected the room (which had an in-room bathroom) to come with free toiletries. When I asked Sven if the room had shampoo and conditioner he said no. So I had to buy toiletries. The room had no curtains, just shutters on the outside of the window screen, which I wasn't able to close because of the window screen. Whether I liked it or not I woke up with the sun. Sven kindly made up tables outside for breakfast and within 5 minutes I had 3 mosquito bites (2 on the face). I ate very quickly and went back inside. So, if mosquitos like you make sure you spray yourself before breakfast. If you drive there is a long line for the car ferry in the morning, so get a ticket ahead of time. I couldn't understand the ticketing website (it's in Italian) so I had to wait in line for the 8:20 ferry but it filled up and I had to take the next ferry.

Sven was a great host. Breakfast was plentiful. The bedroom was comfortable. The in-room bathroom was very nice. The location was within walking distance of restaurants and shops. It has free street parking just outside the walls of the property. The beach is not too far away.

Very good location. Easy commute to and from Venice. Center of Lido has some nice restaurants and a good atmosphere, without being overly crowded. The owner of the B&B gave us some good tips and we had amazing fish dishes. Nice to relax in the evening. The B&B is in a very nice historic building, fully renovated. The room was more than spacious enough, had 2 balconies and a lovely bathroom. Breakfast is served downstairs in the dining room. This place feels very upmarket and is worth its price. We would happily go back.

The house is very picturesque and recently renovated. You can feel the history but have access to all modern comfort. Room was large enough with 2 balconies and a lovely view. Bed was AMAZING, as was the shower! Walking distance to the boat. In 10-15 min you are in the heart of Venice! We find that Lido offers a much more relaxed and authentic vibe (less touristic), and a great place to have dinner away from the rush of Venice. The owner Sven is very helpful. He told us many interesting facts about Venice, what to visit and how to get there. This made a significant impact on our holiday. Please ask him for info when you visit! We highly recommend this place.

Nothing - I thought everything was great

The rooms were spacious and very clean with a nice bathroom. I read a review that the bathrooms were communal, I'm not sure where this comes from as I had my own, nice bathroom. The decor of the house is very sympathetic to the Venetian style with beautiful furniture but with a modern twist. The breakfast was delicious and with plenty of choice, nice coffee and the croissants were perfect. I loved the location and it was a main factor in choosing this accommodation. It is within walking distance from the Vaporetto boats but still has a feeling of peace and quiet. I especially loved that there is a small canal right outside of the garden, a Venetian dream. Overall I was very happy with my stay. I normally don't leave reviews but felt I had to as it ticked all the boxes.

Unlike anything else. I love visiting Venice and Lido and already stayed in several accommodations but this one is a true gem. Well located, completely renovated, clean, spacious, nice breakfast, exceptional host. I would gladly have paid more. Highly recommendable.
