    Some rooms needs a refresh

A beautiful, peaceful place surrounded by hills and vineyards. A very nice, well-maintained swimming pool with an amazing view from above. Another great advantage of this place is the garden with beautiful, well-kept plants – the gardener does a great job. There is a restaurant on site serving delicious dinners. I had a really wonderful time here with my family. I highly recommend this place.

The break fast area. Its to small and cant accommodate many people at once. They could've also done a bar service at the pool.

    Overall stay was excellent.

Room was on top floor, small with low beams. Even as a short person I had to bend while walking around. Beds are not comfortable

Beautiful grounds and pool. Lovely little walk behind hotel, staff are very friendly

    Authentic family run

Promises a great deal but the accommodation is pretty basic and needs renovating. Having a pool are with no bar or food during the day is contradictory… Not sure if it’s a place to relax or just B&B. Highlight was the outdoor restaurant in the evening

Breakfast was quite basic with little variety day to day.

Location definitely met our needs. We wanted something just outside the city with a traditional Tuscan vibe. The staff at Villa Cheli were also very helpful and friendly. Very pet friendly too which made our stay more relaxing.

The location is a little more remote than we had anticipated. A car is a huge advantage. As the villa is built on a very steep hill ,it is not really appropriate for elderly people or anyone with mobility issues. Some of the rooms are further up the hill than the main building and are difficult to walk to in wet conditions.

    The villa is absolutely beautiful.

Restaurant closed 3 nights during our 3 week stay Recommended other restaurant and got taxi there but was closed. No tea making facilities on arrival and asked to go to reception to get cups and milk ( told this was probably due to a them used for a wedding. The sun loungers definitely need to have cushions as very uncomfortable

Beautiful setting, True Tuscan experience. All staff very helpful. Evening young waitresses always smiling and very pleasant. The pool was amazing.

We were in a room at the front of the hotel which has a large terrace with table and chairs. Whilst we were told the terrace was for use by just 2 rooms , other guests often spent time there smoking and chatting . I feel a sign should be located to advise the terrace is only accessible for these 2 rooms only. The only natural day light into the room was from a glass panel in the door and the room therefore felt very dark.

The location is peaceful, pool area wonderful and relaxing and hotel and grounds so charming and beautiful. Cannot fault staff who are all so professional and nothing too much trouble for them. We stayed for a week and ate 4 nights in the restaurant , food was truly excellent. The hotel is dated but that's the whole charm and I would not hesitate to return. Thank you Villa Cheli for making our stay so memorable

The bed springs were very noisy, which made sleeping challenging at times. The evening restaurant food could only be described as dull, tasteless and disappointing given that we were in Italy. Breakfast was ok, the bread rolls were stale, not all the boiled eggs were cooked, but there were a variety of cakes to choose from.

The room was spacious and had a fabulous view. The pool area was clean and the hotel in general was clean.

Breakfast can be improved with more variety of choices. Very limited considering the price of the hotel. Missing of slippers in the room. Vibe could be much more better. This expectations are according to the price and the value expected.

It is for a proper Tuscany experience. The entrance is very charming with the villa view and the hills on the back. Worth for many pictures. Room was clean. Customer service very good. Pool we didn't have the chance to try but it had a nice view of the sunset.

Air conditioning a bit old fashioned and not great, could do with a refurbishment of the rooms. Breakfast was a mess, it was like being in a canteen, had to struggle to get anything, the coffee was awful. the buffet was set up in a very small room with no space to get anything. The location is OK for Lucca if you drive in but very expensive by taxi.

Room a good size, Pool good and clean. But you need to pay 3 euro to hire a towel !

The breakfasts were a bit disappointing, limited choice, and the prepared fresh fruit soon ran out and wasn't replenished. The tea/coffee machine was in an awkward corner, and caused congestion....only room for one person...and not all the guests were patient, waiting for their turn. Teabags and coffee in our room were not replaced after the first night....we stayed for four nights.

The restaurant Les Camellias, headed by chef Mirko was splendid. Eating Al fresco, in the soft warm evening air, In front of beautiful Villa Cheli was magical. Mirko's food was superb and he soon knew exactly what we liked. Fine dining in wonderful surroundings. The swimming pool was a great size, plenty of sunbeds, and lovely views of the surrounding countryside.
