Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBreakfast was nice and staff were super friendly and helpful. A short walk to the coastal promenade. The hotel is a very old building which adds to its charm but may not be to others' tatses. Those that like older buildings will love it.

United StatesOld is the operative word here. It could/should be updated in its decor and furnishings, but we slept well every night. The private bath turned out to be across a receiving hall on our floor, not attached. The shower was so small I washed at the sink. But we have learned to expect how small accommodations are in historic buildings.
This centuries old estate was quite interesting and made for a delightful stay. Part of the charm was the painted ceilings, marble staircase, and architecture both inside and out. The reception staff was friendly, helpful, and spoke English well. We were glad to have free parking on the property. I made the short walk to the Parchi di Nervi (city park) and was delighted to find a beautiful, long seaside walkway. The included breakfast was nice with freshly baked breakfast cakes every morning and delicious cappuccino. This was a stop for access to both Genoa and Cinque Terre. I wish we had planned to stay longer and explore more of Nervi.

Very nice place with good breakfast. It's lovely to wake up on the smell of a freshly made coffee what cones through the building in morning. It's 5 minutes to Marina where plenty of good restaurants. 10 minutes to beach.

Amazing location, amazing vibe, amazing rooms and incredibly nice people. The Villa has a certain charme and it was a very special place to stay at. It seems like time hasn’t passed there. Enjoying a summer evening by the balcony or a very nice breakfast in the garden felt just like a treat. Great quality for great prices. Enjoyed the half board with great choices of menu different everyday, the staff was always very happy to help, family-like stay.

United KingdomIt was a bit of a tight squeeze getting through the ancient gates with our modern car! The furniture and curtains , although sort of in keeping with the ambience, had, to be fair, seen better days! I love old buildings but some furnishing update would make a nice improvement without spoiling the character. Also the toiletries were rather ‘mean’ - a thin sachet of shower gel which was difficult to open! And a water bottle and glasses in room would’ve been nice - but we just took ours up from downstairs 😊 no problem. But only small details that would’ve made a big difference.
This is certainly a building of character! ( 16thCentury) We had a very large room and comfortable bed and could just see the sea through the other buildings around, and through the other window a fabulous view of the city and mountains. It’s a lovey location. Very near the promenade for a beautiful long walk. And up the road a fantastic park with very interesting art gallery and museum. We had dinner at the hotel both nights, which was tasty home cooked food and good value for money - in fact I think all the hotel residents did the same, as was full! There was even a place to park the car! I liked the stay very much and we will return.

PolandThis place has much more to offer than just an accommodation, it is absolutely extraordinary! The vibe, the history, you can feel it all. The frescoes, old floors, paintings on the walls. I had a room with amazing mountain view, facing the garden, you could hear birds chirping. The location is charming, it was my second time in Genova and I had an absolutely thrilling experience staying in Nervi (last time it was city center). Probably the best possible location I could have ever dreamt of, beautiful village, really close to train station and pedestrian promenade where you could walk by the sea. Neighbourhood is safe, calm and beautiful. The breakfast was delicous, the dining room with beautiful ceilling, located next to the garden. Service was super nice and you can absolutely feel the family atmosphere. Owners are doing an amazing job, and you can feel they put all their heart into this place Of course, the place could use some delicate renovations, especially the bathroom for example because of falling plaster on the ceiling in the shower. But the place is really clean. Honestly the condition of the bathroom didn't even bother me at the end at all, because the stay was an absolutely magical experience for me. And the vibe was completely worth it. I will definitely come back here one day, I had an amazing time and felt absolutely relaxed and recharged by staying there.

ItalyThe bathroom needs serious maintenance, there were black mold marks everywhere and salty water destroyed part of the shower wall. It is fair to say though that I could notice that it wasn’t a cleaning issue

CanadaThe bed is not the best and our bathroom was really small. But these are hardly deal breakers. Also, be warned if you are driving that the gate to the parking area is very narrow. We rented an SUV and squeezed through with the mirrors in and just inches to spare.
This is a charming place to stay and only steps away from the port and sea walk which offer exception views. The staff were inviting and it was great to see the hustle and bustle at breakfast with all the other guests. Our room had access to the front balcony which was a great addition to the stay. The breakfast was a great spread and they have an in house cafe/ bar. This is a great stay for those wanting to visit Portofino and Genoa with a little less foot traffic around them. Nervi itself is a beautiful city.
