Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IsraelThe breakfast and reception was right outside our door so we were able to hear the noise in the morning. Luckily we woke up early every day so this didn’t change our plans but couples who like to sleep in may find this annoying.
Excellent breakfast, great staff support. Felt like a private hotel, it was fantastic!

United KingdomAbsolutely nothing. This accommodation was perfection.
This little guest house was an absolute oasis in the hustle and bustle of Rome. The air conditioning was cold, the beds were soft and the service was second to none. Oh - and the restaurants in the area were DIVINE! We had two rooms to accommodate our party of four which worked perfectly for us and each day our beds were made, our towels were fluffed and breakfast was wonderful. There was also a bottle of chilled prosecco in our room upon arrival. I will definitely recommend this little hotel to anyone who visits Rome.

AustriaBreakfast was Italian-style, and therefore a bit small. But I’m a spoiled German, so take that with a grain of salt.
This hotel was my plan B for my Rome vacation. My experience with La Griffe Hotel was so awful that I chose to stay here instead. Luckily, after the first big disappointment known as "La Griffe Roma," I had the pleasure of discovering this little treasure. It is a very beautiful, clean, and modern establishment that is maintained with a lot of passion. The interior design is stylish, contemporary, and high-quality. The internet is super stable and fast, and the air conditioning works like a charm. It takes approximately 10–15 minutes to reach the city center on foot, and even less to get to the beautiful district of Trastevere. But most importantly, the staff are truly passionate about making your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. They are kind, warm-hearted people who are always open to suggestions. A good example: as soon as I told them it was my first time in Rome and that I basically had no idea where to go, they gave me a tourist introduction (including a map with routes and attractions!). You even receive a little metallic water bottle and a bottle of sparkling wine as a welcome gift. These folks saved my Rome trip, and I am very happy and grateful to have found this place. So, to put it in a nutshell: support these wonderful people and enjoy your stay at Verspucci Palace Roma!

United StatesThe smell of trash when you walk into the building.
We had such a lovely stay at Vespucci Palace. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. The room was clean, cozy, and well-equipped—perfect for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was light but fresh, with pastries, fruit, and great coffee. There’s also a shared kitchen area with extra amenities like a coffee machine and cold water tap, which was a nice bonus. The location is quiet yet convenient, with easy access to local spots and major sights. Overall, it was a warm, homey experience—definitely a place I’d return to.

United StatesThe property itself was in a very good location with many restaurants around it. Easy to get to public transportation. Also in and near very popular neighborhoods.
The property was amazing. I’m a very big person and the room allowed me to have a lot of space even for three people. The bathroom was very upscale. There was a heated mirror with button for a light switch. The bathroom had a bidet. Also, there was blackout curtains to help day sleepers like myself.

United StatesIt did not affect us personally, but if someone was elderly or handicapped, they would have difficulty getting up the short flight of stairs to the elevator entrance. This did not detract from our experience, though.
Comfortable, spacious room with nice finishes and furnishings. The free gifts were a lovely and unexpected detail. It was also quiet and peaceful in that neighborhood while being easily accessible to public transportation. The staff was also very accessible and communicative.
