How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewFor the first time in our travels we felt a real home comfort. This accommodation has absolutely everything you need for a comfortable stay and relaxation. Comfortable bed, air conditioning, kitchen with everything you need, cleanliness in everything. Metro nearby.
I had a small misunderstanding with my clothes. Ms. Silvia helped me solve my problems with brilliant skill. Thank you for your hospitality and care!

Verified reviewWe loved our 3-day stay at Veniero37! The location was great, right next to the Vatican and a 8min walk to the metro or a 5min walk to the bus stop where you can pretty much travel to all main Rome places of interest. Our blue room was spotless clean, spacious, had a comfortable large firm mattress and and powerful aircon which worked pretty well even when it was 35C outside. Just perfect for a hot summer's day in Rome. Silvia the host was incredible, very attentive and looked after us very well. Whenever we come back to Rome, we will definitely stay at Veniero37 again!

Verified reviewThe apartment was super clean and modern. Complementary coffee and cookies were nice additions. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with. She informed us about the subway situation and helped us with some questions we had.
There is nothing to complain about, I guess the addition of a dryer will be appreciated.

Verified reviewThe room is located near the Vatican museum, close to metro and easy access to all tourist attractions. Plenty of supermarkets, restaurants and bars etc close by. Lift access and coded entrance. Access to a fantastic kitchen area with everything you could possibly need. The room was fantastic, comfy bed, spotlessly clean and modern. The elevator was up several steps so it was difficult to get the luggage up the steps to the elevator; why wouldn’t they build it to where it comes all the was down to reach the ground floor? For a wheelchair person it would definitely not be accessible. The shared kitchen was definitely not my favorite bc we were jet lagged and the persons in the other room were making all kinds of noise in the kitchen. I got frustrated; the housekeeper just walking in scared the living day light out of my daughter. I wished they would have made sure that we were in the room and not just walked right in. I asked for wash towels for my face but still got a set of bath and hair towels and not wash towel so I had to used the hair towel to wash with.
Dear Yasemin thanks for you review that leaves me very surprised. First of all , even if I clearly wrote you and told you about the tourist tax you left just 18 euros instead of 36 euros, and this is totally unfair. You are complaining about the stairs at the entry of the building, but it’s clearly written that our guest house unfortunately is not accessible for a wheelchair, (we are in an historical building in the center of the City, the elevator has been installed at a later time) You wrote me at 11:30 pm Sunday evening, complaining that the wash towel for the face was missing, that was not true, as we give each guest a set composed of 3 towels of different size, and the two sets of towels were in your room. Anyway I arrived within 20 minutes to provide you a new additional set. You are complaining about the shared kitchen, but the guest in the other room used it and the housekeeper cleaned it in the morning , after 9:00 am, out of the quiet time, respecting the house rules. You are complaining about the price of the room with a shared kitchen, but it was not a surprise, it’s written in the description, and also the price is well known. But must of all I’m very surprised as you, each time we met, just smiled and had only nice words, many thanks, and appreciation for the room, the accommodation, and for me, without complaining about anything. I had to answer to your review, to set the record straight, but I definitely prefer to remember the words of appreciation I received from you.

It is located near the metro, Silvia before your arrival sends you a form with accurate information. The apartment is fully equipped both in the kitchen, bathroom and room. Verified reviewIt was a lovely room with EXCELLENT utilities and free amenities, we had full access to so many things in the kitchen which were all brilliantly included, and the beds and bathroom were incredibly comfortable, and the host was so welcoming and kind, she gave us recommendations for restaurants and bars, and responded to every text we sent quickly and kindly, it made our stay even more enjoyable. And the location next to Vatican City is brilliant!
