Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaThere are only two suggestions: one, just a cup or glass could be provided so that if a person feels thirsty or needs water, they can easily drink it,(avoiding carrying a plastic bottle potentially to refill) and two, the lighting inside the main entrance could be better, it gets pitch dark in the night, and so the guest has it easier in getting inside.
I liked the fact that it was two stations away from Lido, where the film festival was taking place. The room was nice and cosy, and it was quite a serene location near the gardens. The host was very helpful and helped me navigate how to get around. She was lovely and cordial.

CanadaBed wasn’t very comfortable. Kitchen did not have a pan. Small things. Apartment is lovely.
Location is excellent. Lovely neighborhood just outside of the tourist zone. Beautiful park nearby with turtles swimming around. Cheap cappuccinos. It’s a short walk to city center. Shopping is okay. Tough to find stuff that isn’t cheap and overpriced but classic tourist shopping. Some hidden gems scattered throughout. Beautiful place to walk around.

UkraineGreat location and very clean. The staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The only downsides were some minor plumbing issues and the fact that the air conditioning could only be turned on when the temperature reached 28°C so it got a bit hot at night. Other than that, everything was great!

United KingdomThe noisy bar nearby and trying to sleep early after am early flight on the first day. However in Venice there is an 11pm curfew on noise so it wasn't a problem after the initial night.
It was very comfortable and clean. The hosts were generous and welcoming.

GreeceThe furniture were a bit dated, so it felt a bit "old" living there.
Best location for Venice, if you want to be in a quiet neighborhood close to the center of Venice. You could feel the real life of the Venecians.

ItalyThe double bed was a little narrow for two average height people.
Highly recommended!!!! Excellent place with super service in a beautiful, calm and comfortable area of Venice, and it is not at all far from the centre. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby too.

France- Room was on the ground floor, with the front glass door directly to the street. Unfortunately the glass door had a see-through curtain, which means 0 privacy as anybody passing on the street could see everything that was going on inside. I had to turn off the lights every time I was changing myself. The street had little passage, but still, it's not a nice feeling, especially as a young woman travelling alone. They really need to add a thick or a blockout curtain, seems to be an easy fix. - Every single request was payable (leaving the luggage after the checkout, or asking for a city map). It's not a big deal, but for the price of the room you'd expect these to be included.
- Great location, 15 min walk from the main square and all the sightseeing. Very close to two vaporeto stops. - Room was a nice surprise, it was better decorated than in the pictures, possibly recently renovated. Overall quite comfortable and clean - Good communication ahead of the check-in

Czech RepublicYou have to deal with your waste. As we found out it's not so Simple in Venice, especialy on sunday. It would be nice to have more information about that or the best variant - that you don't need to care about.
Nice clean room with comfortable bed. It's possible to arrange self check-in - it was easy and all the instructions was clear.

FranceThe room's view is directly on a wall so there's not a lot of natural light coming in during the day. It's no problem for a short stay but could be inconvenient for a longer trip.
The location is perfect, the room is clean and confortable. The personnal is available and accomodating. I enjoyed my stay there and would recommand it !

AustriaThe only chair in the room was desolate, no table.
Great place for a Biennale visit, very quiet though. Lovely bed, nice furniture, warm and cosy, clean and friendly. Shared bathroom was no problem for me, you cannot cook but use the microwave oven and boil water for tea outside the room. Check-in was easy, good communication via whats-app.

AustraliaI was right next to the bathroom so had to endure a bit of extra noise due to others using it, but for me that’s not an issue. Light sleepers might want to request a room away from the bathroom.
The room was very clean and neat, same with the shared bathroom. Communication from staff about checking in etc was excellent. They also alerted me to a public transport strike happening on the day of my departure, which I wouldn’t have known about without them telling me. I was specially in Venice to visit the Biennale and the location is perfect for this!
