Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe water was on and off in the bathroom as I assume everyone was using it at the same time but it by no means affected our stay.
We have stayed before and it's even better than our last visit as it has expanded to include more rooms, a restaurant and a pizzeria so it's even better as it's quite a remote place. We were greeted on arrival with a gorgeous glass of house wine from the vineyard and would recommend an evening at the pizzeria in the vineyard

IsraelWe rated 8 and not 10 because of the breakfast (included) and dinner (not included). The breakfast offered limited options and was not good enough. We stayed for dinner and were unfortunately very dissappoonted. It was very very price without any justification. Also, we were promised to get a discount on a wine bottle which we did not get.
A hidden jem and a perfect Tuscany expirience. A great starting point to discover the lesser known Marrema area. 30 minutes driving from the lovely town Massa Marittima and 1 hour from the beach. Our room was in the second floor, with a view to a beautiful vine and magnifiecant view to the mountain and the sea. The room was well equiped, clean and comfy. The staff was so helpful, they gave us useful reccomendations.

CanadaSeveral bugs in the room appeared to be living among the rock wall mostly. The shower was poor design, as water had no choice but to run onto the bathroom floor because there was no lip or barrier to keep water in the shower area.
The hillside view was beautiful. You could see the ocean on a clear day and just miles of countryside, vineyards, farms etc. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food at the hotel restaurant was very tasty for dinner and a good breakfast as well. On-site pool, even though it was too cold out to use it, as well as winery to visit and wine to drink directly from Valdonica itself.

SingaporeUnfortunately for our third and fourth night, the aircon wasn’t working and we were told that the setting wasn’t down for summer as yet. Nevertheless, the staff were accommodating to bring in a fan and we were compensated for the inconvenience which was a very nice gesture. Thank you so much! We will surely visit Valdonica again when we have the opportunity as the experience was one for the memories.
The scenery was to die for. Love the friendly people and the pace of life.

EstoniaThe pool looked a bit unclean some days.
Beautiful gem in a peaceful location. The views from the property are just stunning. We enjoyed the local wines and kind hospitality. The rooms are spacious and clean. There are numerous cute towns nearby, like Siena, Massa Marittima and Roccastrada. Would like to thank Martin, Milla, Lorenzo and other staff for making our stay enjoyable.

GermanyThe only thing to mention is that the hotel is located very rural and we would recommend to arrive there by car to explore the beautiful sourrounding. There are not so many restaurants easily accessible by feet. To enjoy all the beauty of Valdonica you have to bring some mobility. The hotel is parted in the cantina down the hill and the main hotel with the restaurant. The pool also is located some meters down the vineyard so that people with disabilities might have difficulties to access.
Valdonica is a beautiful place to stay and explore the Tuscan valleys and cities. Breakfast with very vast offer of hand made pastries, Italian focchachia and cold cuts. Confiture and honey in more than ten sorts. Very friendly and warm service team. We were invited to the end of harvest party for a little amount and were able participated in a great fest we will never forget. Additionally there was free recharge for water and coffee in the cantina, an amazing wine tasting and a little welcome present for us. Last but not least, from every place at Valdonica there was a phenomenal view over the vinyards and Tuscan landscape.

United KingdomWe stayed beginning of Oct and were quite disappointed that the restaurant/bar was shut for the winter as this hadn’t been advertised on here, or on their website. The vineyard was very remote, so quite far from shops and any other restaurants. We knew this upon booking but as it was our honeymoon, we were looking forward to being wined and dined and not having to drive off in search of food and water etc. Such a shame as the rest of our stay was brilliant.
Absolutely stunning location and loved the winery’s values. Lovely staff too. We paid for the wine tasting experience and would highly rate that, the guide was very knowledgeable and we tried lots of lovely wines.

CanadaThe rooms were super cool from a design perspective but there was very little storage space and they were a little noisy in that you could hear you neighbours. While to food was delicious, the menu did not vary.
Beautiful and unique property in a little town away from your typical Tuscan experience. The vineyard is organic which was very interesting to us. The rose Prosecco and wine and meals were exceptional. All the staff were super friendly and it was a pleasure meeting the owner, Martin. We felt like family.

United KingdomThe bed was very uncomfortable. And the 5 course wine pairing dinner on Tuesday was not what we expected and they did even change the wine glasses. From pink to white to red and from seafood to meat with the same glass. I had to ask them to change my glass as I could smell the seafood and not the wine.
Beautiful views, breathtaking actually. Lovely simple fresh breakfast with more Beautiful views of Toscana. Very nice wines. And very friendly staff

GermanyWhen looking for accomodation one of the most important criteria was to have electric car charhing plugs. Unfortunatelly, during my stay, the charging points were not connected to the grid so unusable. The pool was also not very clean and the water was greenish. The pizza offered from the food truck is closer to a supermarket frozen pizza than to an autétic italian one.
Excelent location with an amazing view, best breakfast view I had so far. Excelent breakfast. Very clean and spacious room.

United StatesThe views! The amazing views from the breakfast area, the pool (down the road a bit), and all of the outdoor seating with outstanding views). The facilities had so much character. The staff, especially Manuela and Fernanda were very sweet and accommodating. Although it was the off-season, we were treated to a small wine-sampling and tour of the winery cantina along with the pool. Breakfast was nice and the view is exceptional. Loved the self-service, high-end coffee/cappuccino maker and fresh water taps. The nearby towns, parks, and sea are all fun to explore. A town and parks are within a walk of the lodging. The sea and other nearby towns require a vehicle. We were grateful for the kitchenette and cooked lovely Italian meals with fresh ingredients. We highly recommend this and will visit here again!

ItalyThe staff were amazing and very responsive specially the front desk staff. We travel with our best friends and we picked rooms next to each other- their room was infested with termites ants, no hot water, in neither rooms, the lights outside to walk to the restaurant were not working and the food at the restaurant was terrible. The restaurant beautiful and the staff outstanding. We are supposed to be reimbursed for some of the money we pay for our stay

United KingdomThe accommodation was in the winery, which is a steep short walk down the hill from the amazing restaurant at the top of the hill. If you are walking down to the accommodation at night, look out for the hundreds of 'light beetles' in the hedges.......it was a great light show! There was also a great little swimming pool in the grounds that had a breathtaking view over Tuscany. Be warned the drive up to Valdonica is steep, so just stay in first or second gear, otherwise your car will struggle. The restaurant is well worth a visit due to the unmatched panoramic views over Tuscany........the breakfast was fab too!

AustraliaDon’t let the photos fool you like I was. The location is terrible, the property is also tacky. Pool is located across a main road down a 200m road on what feels like a separate property. The hotel is also right on a main road, there is nothing close to this property worth seeing. This should be no more than €100 a night however we were charged more than €350 - it’s simply overpriced
The staff are wonderful
