How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewFelt luxurious with the decor, very clean, comfy beds. Nice breakfast and lovely roof terrace. Staff very helpful. Walkable to main attractions but it was about 30mins away so only if you’re fairly active.
Found it a bit oppressive and confusing to find your way around with all the marble and dark walls everywhere! Good place for a couple of nights in the city though.

It was dark, cramped and had a very little washroom that was tight to shower in. The staff at breakfast were not friendly or helpful and the service was poor - we had to track them down to request items like a fork, salt and pepper.

Verified reviewThe location is good; the surrounding area is pedestrian which is ok once you are there. You are also 5 minutes from Flaminia train station which is 4 stops from termini. Good WiFi.
The staff were friendly overall, though I wouldn’t say the reception went the extra mile. The cleaners and porters were lovely, but we weren’t given any useful information about Rome — the only suggestions were the two restaurants owned by the hotel (both on the expensive side). The building itself is unusual, with its own quirky charm thanks to its different uses over the years, but this also makes the rooms a bit odd. Appliances feel dated: next to the bed you’ll find five different switches that still don’t control all the lights, and if you’re a couple traveling together, only one of you can plug things in unless you’ve brought an extra adapter. No coffee or tea machines in the room — though there are big mirrors on the walls and ceiling 😉 (worth reading up on the building’s history). Positives: Shower pressure and temperature: excellent. Bed: very comfortable. TV: Italian Sky Digital plus a handful of international channels (but no app streaming - no mirroring) Negatives: Bar and restaurant prices are “American tourist” level. Rome in general seems to be heading this way, but for what we paid vs. what we got, I doubt we’ll return or recommend this hotel. The gym… well, calling it a gym is generous. It’s a funny experience though — if you’re gym-conscious, give it a go, but be ready for a heatstroke risk depending on the season. Think La Grande Bellezza opening scene vibes. Extra note: The tourist tax is paid when leaving the property, and as it’s a 4-star, the charge is higher.

When we checked in our luggage that particular concierge was incredibly snooty about our bags being backpacks not suitcases, and in general acted rather smugly toward us. Every other concierge / host was accomodating, however. Additionally we were woken up at 4 AM by a phone call saying “the police are here”- in the hotel’s defence there was a guest making a particular scene, however we were fast asleep sleep and then very disoriented, and due to check-out that morning . The concierge at the other end of the phone apologised for the noise (we couldn’t hear anything) and said we could move to a suite right now. We didn’t take up that offer as we felt we wouldn’t have been able to get back to sleep anyway - which unfortunately we weren’t able to anyway.

We can not sleep all night...finally 7 am i believe somebody reset the breaker for four floor and we feel the AC. We try to contact the manager and os course is in vacation and is not disappointed. We are very disappointed and angry about this stay...we stay all night with no Lights and AC. We really ask for money back.
We have a bad experience...Room don't have power, lights and Air conditioning all night.. Inside the room was 84 degrees and we don't sleep all night. Nobody all night can not help us.

The standard rooms are very small. In the room for 3, the third one slept in a separate room with weak air conditioning. The hotel offered a portable cooler but there was no extension cord for the room and the room had no outlets for charging. As a family of 5, the restaurant employees insist on seating us at a table for 5, only that these tables are in the sun every morning and the place is hot, they refused to let us sit at adjacent tables of 3 where we don't want to, rooftop is very expensive.

Verified reviewWe had a great time staying at this hotel, it is very clean, quiet and has lots of character and the staff are very helpful. The cafe next door is perfect for lunch, dinner or snacks. And having breakfast and dinner on the rooftop was amazing.
The room was a little tight for space although that wasn’t a problem.

Verified reviewThe hotel is centrally located and convenient. The breakfast is lacking in that it is not rich compared to other 4-star hotels, and also paying 10 euros for a single egg is very excessive, and it should have been free.
Breakfast should be richer, and eggs should be free of charge. The rooms were constantly lacking in amenities such as shower gel, shower caps, and bottled water for the room should be free of charge.
