Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaAlthough the accomodation is in the square. It was a little hard to find.
The location was in the nerve centre of Triest. Marina the host couldn’t do enough for us. Every morning Marina would put on a beautiful breakfast . Marina was also helpful with buses and tourist information.

SloveniaParking: it is really a problem to find a parking place nearby, the closest parking place Park San Giusto was full, it took me an hour to find a free parking place. Location: on one hand, it is perfect for sightseeing and trips to the city, but the location has one big disadvantage - right underneath the bedroom window, a restaurant is located, with quite a loud music and even louder guests. Even closing the shutters and the window didn't help much. I assume it is more of a problem on a weekend than during the week, but nevertheless, it was disturbing (I understand that we were in the middle of the living heart of the city on a Friday night).
Initially, I was surprised to learn that I was about to share the apartment with the owner, but quickly found it inspiring, even fascinating. Marina is super friendly and supportive, she gave as some suggestions what to visit and when, based on the weather situation etc. We quickly found a common language, she explained what rooms are for our use. Her apartment is a beautiful type of a time capsule, filled with antiques. It provides a time travel back to the times of the Austro-Hungarian Kingdom and adds some extra fleur to the visit. Located in the very center of the old town, a lot of sightseeing locations are located nearby. When you exit the apartment, you are immediately surrounded and overwhelmed by the city heartbeat. Breakfast was lovely, servied in an old style eating room, using a bone China porcelain, with orange juice, fresh strawberries and freshly prepared coffee from the cafetiera. In addition, we got espresso as well. Bathroom with toilet was separated, for our use only, spacious, clean, luxurious. Tiziana from a shop at the entrance to the building was also a great help, deserves to be mentioned here.

ItalyWe loved the property and it’s antique furniture. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom very big and clean. Marina, the host, is very nice and welcoming, gave us lots of good tips about the city which have been really helpful!!! The only downside is probably the noise at night as it is a buzzing area but as long as you close the window there is no problem. Room has AC anyway so all good!
The location is perfect. It’s on Piazza Borsa, a buzzing square in the heart of the city and within walking distance from the main attractions, like Piazza dell’Unita’, the cathedral and castle of San Giusto, Canal Grande with the San Spiridone and Sant’Antonio churches. It is also surrounded by some of the most famous old cafes, fantastic restaurants and bars where you can enjoy amazing and very cheap coffees and spritzes! Train station is also within walking distance and you can get a bus just opposite the station that takes you to Miramare Castle. You certainly do not need a car to visit the beautiful Trieste!!!

AustraliaThe only thing which some travellers may not like is if you have your windows open of a night there is a fair bit of street noise as bars and restaurants are below. It didn't really bother us too much and we kept them open all night for fresh air and still slept well. It kind of added to the vibe. Just something to keep in mind.
The location, room and facilities were fantastic. My wife and I were very happy with the whole experience. You basically have a bedroom with an amazingly comfortable bed, nice bathroom, a living room and a dining room all full of antique furniture which sets a lovely scene. The breakfast is a lovely daily pleasure you look forward to. When you walk out of the building you enter the heart of Trieste and the piazza. Whether you go left or right there is an abundance of restaurants, bars, cafe's and things to do and look at. The train station is an easy flat 10-15 minute stroll. Last but not least the manager Marina is a lovely person and is the perfect host. We are seasoned travellers and don't really require any help but it was good knowing Marina was there if needed.

NetherlandsThe streets are too noisy to open the windows until very late on friday and saturday. It is a quiet room with the windows closed and airco on though.
Marina makes you feel very welcome at her place, which is very centrally located. She serves a breakfast with fresh eggs and fruit at your chosen time.

United StatesBeing in the centre of town there is plenty of noise from restaurants below, people partying till late at night and such.
Location was city center. Marino is so generous and helpful. she went out of her way to provide me with a delicious and abundant gluten-free breakfast. she even gave me an electrical adapter plug since I had lost mine. She provided restaurant and sightseeing recommendations.

United StatesThis is a bed and breakfast. This information should be noted clearly on booking.com.. this location is not accessible by vehicle. It is located on a square that is only pedestrian traffic. The address needs to be much more clearly marked. A picture of the storefront where patrons enter would be most helpful.

Australiamaybe a bit more of food facilities, like a small microwave and mini frigo where we can put some fruits and own drinks.(maybe on the food area)..Apart from that...nothing to add.
excellent location and facilities, room is great, lots of spaces to keep your things...bathroom perfect.. lots of little helpful items ... helpful and friendly owner Marina, took good care of us, good conversation, great breakfast, w everyday one little extra surprise..to make the bkf bit different.. We were the only guests, only one room (not sharing w other guests) and freedom to walk within the flat, lots of charming "history-telling "decoration. Price is reasonable, compatible w surround B&Bs. helpful in all aspects.....easy to find place, handy position..(the lack of parking didn`t bother us as we were not driving, but lots of buses around..easy to walk around even without that)..quite safe area. (the train and bus stations are together) are about 1km from there by foot, it`s a busy area, ok to walk around during day time, not sure yet about late night time (we were told to be alert around square in front of the station (dark area, few "weird" people doing"whatever kkk!)..we had a great time!..(thanks Marina!)...
