Charming hotel in the countryside perfectly placed for exploring Modica, Ragusa and val di Noto. Breakfast was delicious, staff was very helpful and the swimming pool is a great way to cool down at the end of the day.

This is a beautiful 17th century farmhouse , we arrived late evening the hotel made contact via WhatsApp and offered to stay around to see us to our room at 11pm , which was very kind . We were impressed on arrival what a beautiful place to stay . An Italian family were celebrating in the courtyard and it was a really nice atmosphere. The room was away from the courtyard so was nice and quiet . The pool area is easily accessible with nice comfy sunbeds . This was a great base to visit Noto, Syracuse , Ragusa and Modica . I would definitely recommend a stay here the breakfast was lovely too .

The room had one window at the very top of a high wall which could not be reached.

The b'fast was very good and varied. Pool was lovely too. We had a very lovely dinner and was served by a very friendly, knowledgeable and young waiter unfortunately forgot his name.

Highly recommended ! This property exceeded all our expectations. Very authentic, clean and well organized. Staff was very helpful and prepared gluten free options just for us. Breakfast was amazing with many different items to choose from! They also provide lunch and dinner.

We had a slight ant problem in the kitchen but reception gave us some spray to use which helped. Other than that we had no complaints.

Peaceful and remote location. The hotel was stunning and we had 2 junior suites so we had a lovely outside seating area and sun loungers. The pool was perfect to cool off during the heat of the day and there were always enough sun beds. A car is must staying here as the nearest town is 15 minutes away and the beach is just over 30 minutes. Was my first time driving abroad and the roads were very easy to navigate. The restaurant is extremely popular with the locals so you must book in advance to reserve a table but they do squeeze you in if you decide to dine last minute.

There should be more sunbeds near the swimming pool. Some guests left their beach towels on the beds for various hours without showing up. The hotel management should be more strict on this.

Highly Recommended! We were genuinely impressed by how well-organized and professional the entire hotel team was. From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Our room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and cleaned daily—something you don’t see often nowadays. The lush garden was not only well-maintained but also mosquito-free, which shows the hotel has truly thought through every detail for guest comfort. The on-site restaurant was a real highlight—authentic Italian cuisine with delicious dishes served in a warm and inviting atmosphere. It’s also very family-friendly, making it a great choice if you’re traveling with kids. Despite the restaurant being open until 11 p.m., we never experienced any noise issues. Both hotel and restaurant guests respected each other’s peace and privacy, making our stay all the more enjoyable. We had a fantastic time and will definitely return.

Beautifully restored rustic building, with a wonderful garden and swimming pool. Eating outside in a cobbled courtyard was a delight. The junior suite was clean and tidy with great beds and everything we needed. The staff were excellent and very friendly, the food superb.

Everything was wonderful!

We found Torre Don Virgilio to be an exceptional place to stay in the beautiful countryside outside of Modica. The buildings in this historic establishment are charming and beautifully restored. We loved the wonderful and peaceful atmosphere created by the gardens, olive trees, and potted plants. The only sounds we heard were birds singing! The pool area is lovely, and we enjoyed relaxing there. The staff were friendly, kind and helpful. We had a delicious dinner at the restaurant, and the breakfast was fantastic - so many great choices to choose from. We hope that one day we are able to return to this amazing property!

Convenient location close to Modica and Ragusa. Beautiful setting, very clean. Super nice staff. Good value for money. Well maintained pool. The restaurant is serving tasty food as well.

Breakfast was ok - not that much of variety. No windows in the room (bad air and no natural light). Kitchen not equipped for usage. Air conditioning not really cooling.

The well kept outside area - beautiful garden, old olive trees with Italian flair. Calm and relaxing atmosphere. Located in the beautiful countryside. Nearby to Noto, Modica and Ragusa as well as the beach. Friendly and helpful staff.
