Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAs it is a guest house its not a very „private” room if you are a couple, but it was still very lovely and safe!
The location was PERFECT, the staff were the sweetest people, as a couple we felt very safe in their hands! Even though with some staff we didn’t share the same language everything was explained perfectly and communicated clearly, If we ever come back to Rome we would definitely stay here again, i highly recommend❤️

United KingdomOne of our nights it was noisy with other guests late on at night.
The room was fine and the staff were lovely. Quite a walk to the collesum etc. very handy for Vatican city. We were there when it was very hot and walking to and from the station with cases was difficult.

Philippines- you can hear noises from the street but not really that bad - room is a bit outdated - we had some issue with the aircondition but the room is quiet cool during the night so we only made use of the window.
I booked a double and single bed. -Location is ok, 11mins walk from the nearest metro. -walking distance to Vatican -accessible since the B&B is located at the ground level and only has few stairs -We were greeted by Lola. Very nice and sweet lady but doesn't speak English although we somehow understand each other and very patient to explain further if we have clarifications. -The room is spacious and clean but outdated. -Michelle responded even late in the evening and tried to sort out the a/c as much as she could the following day. -Overall the stay was pleasant since we were mostly out during the day but it would've been better if the room would be updated alittle bit. Other than that, if you want a place to stay in Rome near Vatican you can consider this as an option 😉

It is an amazing place to stay while visiting Rome and Vatican. You have coffee machine with options of espresso, latte, cappuccino, tea, or hot chocolate in the lobby, available at any time. Hospitality is outstanding - recommendations for visiting places, guidance for airport shuttle (stop is available 350 m from the place, to all airports of Rome). Air conditioning, umbrellas nearby the main door if needed, even electric kettle - just ask about it. It is a real taking care about the guests. Room itself is nice and authentic - high ceilings, ornaments. You have no doubts that you are in Rome. If I come to Rome again, I will come to Tibullo Guesthouse for sure.

NetherlandsOn a minor note: the atmosphere in the B&B feels somewhat strange. You only hear the other guests, but never see them. It's a bit ghostlike. Also, it's a pity that you cannot boil water for making tea.
The room is as beautiful as on the pictures. Especially the ceiling is truly amazing. As soon as you're waking up, the first thing you feel is that you're in a historic place! Well, that sums up Rome for me! Location is also great. Located in a quiet residential area, but on walking distance to many of the top sights.

ArgentinaWe have a problem with an electrical socket on the wall, we told them, they fixed it to the next day. It's just an old building regarding the electrical sockets, but I think that's Roma in general.
The location is good and the staff is very friendly. Good relation between price and what you get. Recomendable if you are travelling with a low or medium budget. The location is good because it is close to one part of the historical side of the city and also easy to walk around.

IrelandI found the memory foam pillow too high for my neck and would have appreciated another pillow. The air con unit in the room drips into a container with a dripping sound. I had to turn it off. I recommend this accommodation however.
Great location with easy access to the metro route and sit bus shuttle from the airport. Safe area and quiet street outside. Large refrigerator and a safe in the room. Free hot chocolate from the machine in the hallway. We left our bags at reception on our last day with no problem. The room was cleaned daily to a high standard.
