How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Kitchen was not fully ready, no cups, plates, or utensils available. Not many food options in town for breakfast

We are happy that you appreciated the location of our structure, a few meters from the bus stop for the historic center of Florence, as well as the fact that around our structure there are 6 breakfast bars, bars offering both sweet and savory dishes, as well as a pizzeria and an excellent fish restaurant. Perhaps you don't remember that your booking included a double bedroom with private bathroom and not a living room with kitchen too. We hope to have you as our guests again soon Best regards Fabrizia

Verified reviewNice, clean and comfortable flat. Fabrizia was an excellent host. Very helpful, good tips what to see in Florence, made it very easy to just take the bus by selling us tickets in advanced. Nice location, only 20 min by bus. Great pizzaplace 2 min away and private parking.

check in is just in 4 hours from 16:00 till 20:00, first nigjt of booking i had to sleep in another accomodation because for them was too late to give me keys at 23:30. If you travel for business or you can delay somehow, they dont care at all. Room was too noise, room was straight on the street and windows and wall are very thin, you can hear everythings. I asked several time to switch on the heating system in the bathroom and bedroom and they gave me instruction for the fan (air conditioning system present only in the bedroom and very noisy) but the radiators in the toilet and bedroom always cold. I asked before to arrive info where to have salty or english breakfast or simple breakfast and they told me " in the square there are several places" just to let you know there is only one Bar, quiet old. Garage opening system was always broken and never worked, one night i had to jump the gate at 23:00 to get out from the parking because was not working. i defenetely CANNOT SUGGEST this place, they dont know what is mean hospitality and kindness.

We must not learn education from you, who allow you, unlike other customers, to publicly question and to doubt our hospitality and courtesy and you have taken the liberty of putting in a bad light our structure and our work, as if you had stayed in a stable. Learn respect before teaching it to others, on the other hand what we can expect and learn in kindness and behavior from a person who does NOT want to respect the check-in time as clearly indicated and he wants to do it at will after midnight without even warning .. . how NOT to be able to use a trivial on / off remote control to switch on the heating despite 26 ° of temperature (almost summer) ... how NOT to be able to use an automatic gate (it has demagnetized the badge 3 times) ... how NOT to be able to find a famous pastry bar (better in the area) a few meters from the property for a porridge ... how to write the review in English being Italian ... finally ... he could use his kindness and make the effort to do better and give us a zero instead of 2 !!!

Verified reviewNothing, the bathroom was way too small, the lighting very poor, transportation was the worst, 3 minutes to the bus stop but an hour wait for the bus., Bus schedules were very irregular at best.
Unfortunately, this couple's rudeness is also reflected in this review ... arriving 4 hours past the maximum check-in time, late at night. They left the room in a painful and savage condition, exchanging the bidet for the toilet in a bathroom of over 5 square meters and towels to throw away. That day was a bus strike and we are not responsible for public transport.
