How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThere were many things I really liked - really peaceful location with easy walk to many sites. The staff, all but one, were super friendly and helpful. It was spotlessly clean, with a simple, uncluttered decor. The room overlooked an inner courtyard which, while not attractive, meant it was super quiet ( other than the issue below).
3 things really let this place down - firstly, the room i was in had one area sectioned off to provide the bathroom for the nextdoor room - with only a thin plasterboard wall - the noise, right next to the headboard of the bed, wás atrocious at midnight when my neighbours returned, like they were in the room with you. Secondly, the lack of tea/coffee making facilities in the room - but also the only drinking vessel was one single use plastic (really!!!) cup - nothing else to drink out of, despite a mini bar being provided - it just felt cheap and mean. Finally, the breakfast was poor -despite weeks of notice, there was little attempt to address dietary requirements and the gluten free options were very poor - even had I been able to eat what was available it was really not appealing. If these areas were addressed I would highly recommend but actually it sadly felt way over priced and second rate as a result.

Verified reviewThe front desk clerk was not helpful. He looked disinterested and exhausted. I think he was on a 24hr + shift. So can't really blame the poor dude. There ought to be laws against that.

Verified reviewGreat location and the felt very safe as solo female. There is a metro very nearby and I even found the location to be walkable. The room was affordable for Rome and had everything I needed and breakfast was decent.
WiFi wasn’t always the strongest and at times did dip out.

Verified reviewVery helpful and welcoming staff. The room had everything you needed. Great location.
I have nothing to compare it to in terms of the price range and other hotels in Rome. It was all good but the room was fairly basic.

Verified reviewIts at a good location, very close to the metro so you don’t need to walk a lot
I was on the 2nd floor, the walls are so thin you hear everything going on the 3rd and ground floor- sometimes noise woke me up. Also the mattress was thin it felt like i was sleeping on the floor.

Verified reviewThe B Place was located in a very convenient spot, and it was easy for us to walk to most major tourist attractions in Rome. It was also close to the metro line so it was easy for us to reach using public transport from the airport. There are also several restaurants (Pizzeria San Marco and 3 Quarti were our faves) within walking distance which we enjoyed. The rooms were clean and we had sufficient space. We would stay here again if we are back in Rome.
The hotel breakfast wasn’t great, options were limited. I wouldn’t pay extra to add on breakfast option.

Verified reviewVery charming place in an old building. I stayed in the extra house a few steps away but that was actually really charming as you get your own keys to the building. Great location with a lot of busses around, bars and restaurants. By foot you can reach a lot of touristy locations. Nice modern room with a small fridge.
Bathroom hat it's challenges. A) Unfortunately nearly no storage space and as a women I need to place my stuff somewhere so I put it on the limited amount of space at the sink but that had no sink plug so I was always worried something might fall in.. Not ideal. As well the shower hat not really a proper shower holder so I had to shower with with one arm. Which was okay but if I would have needed to wash my hair it would have been a real challenge. But bathroom was nice roomy and had proper lightning.

Verified reviewOur room (nr 31) was in a dependance building located at the Via Enzio 9, two blocks away from the main building. They own a section of the 3rd floor which is accessible by elevator. The rooms are modern and equipped with airconditioning. They were cleaned on a daily basis by the staff, who did a stellar job. One morning we put our washed clothes from the lavanderia on the bed to let them dry out a bit further. We put them on the bed in a way to signal to the cleaners that they didn’t have to bother making up the bed. We wouldn’t mind if the bed stayed messy when we arrived back. But when we arrived back at the room in the evening, the cleaners made the bed anyway and put the clothes back in the exact same position. This indicates a high level of service and hospitality to us so we really appreciated the gesture from the staff.
The bathroom was nice and modern, however the shower head could only be positioned vertically on the wall so that the water stream came out horizontally; A minor inconvenience. There is shower gel and shampoo provided in pumps tied to the shower wall. However, we would also appreciate a little plateau to put our own shower supplies on. This was not present. All in all, these are minor inconveniences as we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The B Place hotel.

Verified reviewThe room was super clean and beautifully decorated. There was parking space just in front of the hotel complimentary for the guests!Good area to stay as it is realllly close to metro station Ottaviano. The breakfast was served on the terrace and it was excellent with a variety of things to select. There were even boiled eggs, which is hard to get in hotels in Italy! Staff super polite :)
