My room (Lavanda - each room has its own name) was quite small, but I got such a fantastic value for money that it didn't matter much.

If you are looking for Tuscany at its most authentic, Il Tresto provides that. It's located on a working farm in picture-perfect Tuscan hills, offers quiet and relaxation, and is off the beaten path enough that you'll be able to isolate if you want to. While you have to drive a short distance on a rutted dirt road, it's nothing serious - and in warm weather, the pool alone is worth it. Also notable, a glorious breakfast buffet. The house does not provide lunch and dinner, but can make you sandwiches to go - and go you will, because this is a great base for exploring Tuscany. You also absolutely need a vehicle.

The only issue for me was not very warm water and I would have enjoyed having hot water kettle at least a common one like the fridges.

By nice Tuscany nature surrounded a stone country house + appendixes in a pleasant garden, to which you get on a cypruss tree-lined non-tarmac road, which is great as the place keeps its charm and authenticity. The highway is not far but you donť hear it. By the way, just a little bit way up the road, you disccover a small romanesque church and a keep. The single room was nicely furnished and there were two comfortable armchairs on the first floor to relax by the window on a rainy day. Guests have also two common fridges at their disposal. You can borrrow books not only in Italian. The breakfast is nice, including cakes, warm croissants, choice of cheeses, prosciutto, salami, eggs, fruit, home jams, juice and a good cappuccino on a request. You can eat in the nearby Poggibonsi, which is the starting point for San Gimignano - there is a good bus connection. You can go on train/bus to Florence or Siena from here. The walking distance between Tenuta Il Tresto and the railway station is 3km, so for those used to walking, not a problem. I do recommend this place to those who want to shed off the tourist crowd and enjoy the countryside, while being able to reach historical places. A very nice medieval town of Certaldo is just within some 15minutes ride on the train.

No aircon in the room, which although would not have stopped me booking it would've been welcome given the temperatures in Italy at the time (late 30's). Fans are provided.

The location up in the hills was lovely, and the views from the pool and the property are amazing. Very peaceful, if you're looking for a quiet place to spend a few days it's perfect and the pool is an added bonus! Lovely owners and staff.

We loved the beautiful surroundings, sunset near the swimming pool, and walking in the garden. On the floor there are two fridge for the guests.

The road leading to the place was not the best. I had to be very careful with my car.

The door lock is not working properly, each time it's a struggle to open it. The internet is not working, but no staff member is around until 9:00am next morning. When finally they come they don't admit it's their WIFI's problem because they can access it even though all your devices can't. Their laundry service is a joke, only washers, no driers. You pay to wash then stay longer to wait for sun dry. I guess tha't what you hope.

Beautiful countryside views, nice pool area, delicious breakfast, not many people. If you plan your vacation on foot, be prepared for a 2km hike from Poggibonsi train station to the accomodation. Reaching the spot on foot is quite safe, not a lot of traffic.

Everything was amazing, I really have nothing negative to say.

We checked in late and they helped us over the phone and then came to check that we had got in ok. The room was so clean and tidy and cozy and the Tuscan hills were fabulous to look at through the window. View from the pool was spectacular and it was just so pleasant. We could not have asked for more and can't wait to return in the future.

The road to the property is a little bumpy and narrow for 500 meters. Gravel. But thats the only minus I can think of.

What a wonderful stay! The location is absolutely stunning, pearched in the beautiful Tuscan hills and strategic to reach both Florence and Siena in 30 minutes. The staff is very accommodating and everything was perfect! Highly recommend it.
