How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewWonderful hosts, superclean room and great breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. It is approx a 30 min walk to Colosseum, and we took the walk everyday with no issues :-) there is also public transport, if you prefer that. We love the walking and therefore it was a win win.
Just thumbs up from here! :)
Dear Evelina, thank you so much for your feedback! We are really glad you appreciated our guest-house in each and every aspect. You were such lovely guests and we hope to host you again here in Rome. Take care!

Verified reviewBreakfast was great, and the rooms were really comfortable and well-isolated (so quiet). We also had AC, which was great considering that it was really warm outside. The room was also really modern and clean. Would recommend!
I do not have much to complain about, really. The location is a bit far from the centre, but we knew that when we booked. Just be aware that you need to travel 20-30 minutes by bus or tram, depending on where you want to go. However, it is in a really well-connected spot, so we changed transportation at most 1 time on our journeys.
Dear Minhea, thanks for your lovely review. We are glad you appreciated so much our guest-house and that you took advantage of our proximity to the main public means of transport that can lead to the city centre in a short time. Take care 🤍

Verified reviewI had a truly lovely stay at Francesco’s place. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged, and the surrounding neighborhood had such a relaxed and authentic vibe. It felt like a real local experience. Francesco was a kind and responsive host, and I appreciated his warm welcome and communication throughout.
The only downside was the distance from the central train station. While there are trams and buses that stop nearby, it does take a bit longer to get around, especially if you’re on a tight schedule. That said, if you’re not in a rush, the peaceful vibe of the suburb more than makes up for it.
Dear Geng, we are delighted to know you felt home and appreciated the cleanliness, style and atmosphere of our guest-house. Glad you also enjoyed the neighborhood and its vibe. Regarding the public transport connection, we know we are not located in what is commonly called "city centre" but we are sure that our proximity to trams, buses and underground to the main tourist destinations is advantageous. Take care 🤍

Verified reviewEverything was perfect. The whole staff is very kind and helpful. Rooms are nice and very clean. Bathroom is big! Breakfast was perfect. The place is really close to public transport and close to train station Termini. Close are also restaurants and supermarket. If I will come back to Rome, I will definitely choose this place again.
Dear Kristyna, we are really glad to read your words and delighted to know you appreciated our place and neighborhood in each and every aspect (big bathroom included :-)). It was a pleasure to host you and we are waiting to do that again then! Take care 🤍

Verified reviewWe had a comfortable stay in this sweet place with a beautiful garden. The room was clean, tidy and pleasant. The breakfast is not rich, but it is tasty and sufficient. The shared kitchen makes the place look even cozier. Thanks to the staff who were extremely kind.
Dear Nona, thanks for your review. We are really glad you appreciated our place so much and spent a lovely stay here. Concerning our breakfast buffet, as you can understand we cannot give the food variety offered by a hotel as we are a four rooms guest-house but we try our best to meet our guests tastes and needs. Take care 🤍

Dear Alberto, we are delighted to read you appreciated our rooms, our staff and the cleanliness of our place. Regarding our breakfast buffet, as you can easily understand we cannot compete with the food variety of a hotel as we are a four rooms guest-house but we hope you appreciated our sweet and savoury breakfast selection anyway. Verified reviewI had a bad start to my visit - wallet stolen on arrival at Termini leaving me with no cards or cash. Bank was unable to help so had it not been for the lovely people at Sweet Home I really don’t know what I would have done. They were all so incredibly kind and helpful. Plus the place is lovely with a great breakfast
The room was a bit noisy from the traffic
Dear Alison, once again we are sorry for what happened to you at Termini station but we are really happy that you enjoyed Rome anyway and that we were helpful and supportive to allow you to spend a pleasant stay here at our place. Regarding the noise, as you surely noticed Rome is a very busy city and traffic noise is very common if you're staying in town but we hope you appreciated our powerful insulated windows. Verified reviewA truly wonderful Air BnB. The room was clean, aesthetic and a great size. The bed was very comfortable, a lovely rainfall shower and the mini fridge was a great touch helping us to take bottles of chilled water with us on our days in the city. The owners were ever so friendly as were their cleaning staff. A fabulous breakfast selection, very generous! We will definitely book again in the future. 😊
Nothing! The property is approx 30mins via tram and metro from the centre, this would be the only thing to consider.
Dear Ava-Mae, thank you very much for your feedback. We're so glad to know our guest-house satisfied your expectations ツ It was a truly pleasure to meet you and host you ♡ Looking forward to the next time! All the best.

Verified reviewAwesome 1920’s renovated building. Spacious rooms, comfortable bed and close to the bus and tram stop (Prenestina officine on the 514 tramline works best). Great breakfast variety and awesome hosts - Claudia, Francesco and the cleaning staff were really friendly and helpful. The area is really cool as well - all the restaurants we visited (it is out of the touristy center) were authentic and mainly frequented by locals. Ristorante l’Aquila was a proper favorite with the best pizza we had in Rome (and we walked 5km to Trestavere to make sure).
It is very accessible to the public transport but it is a bit far out from the main attractions. Romes public transport systems are a bit erratic and Google Maps and Apple Maps don’t always pick up bus lines or trams and on weekends sometimes certain lines are cancelled. We found the Metro the most reliable - the Pigneto Metro is a really nice walk from Sweet Home Pigneto and isnt as far as the maps make it out to be.
Dear David, thanks for your feedback. We are really happy you enjoyed your stay at our place and appreciated the building we are located in and the neighborhood, which is still genuine and vivid. Delighted to know you took advantage of the public means of transport to the city centre. We know Rome was really busy when you came due to the Pope death combined with some major infrastructures works (that will improve our connection to the centre in the nearest future) but yes, trams and metro are really close to our guest-house and reliable. It has been a pleasure to host you and we hope to meet you again! Take care 🤍
