How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThis property is in an excellent location, freshly renovated, and beautifully furnished. It’s spotless, with a coffee machine ready to use and cold drinks waiting in the fridge. The modern design cleverly incorporates an ancient column visible in the bathroom, adding a unique and charming touch. Highly recommended!
A minor drawback is that, due to its very central location, the early morning opening of the shops below can be quite noisy and hard to ignore

Verified reviewIt was clean, modern with a great location. The service was outstanding, and the communication Stefano was great. He always answered quickly and did whatever he could to make our stay as good as possible. He met us when we arrived, helped us with our luggage (it was a lot) and he had fixed a parking spot for us right outside the apartment. He even bought a special orthopaedic pillow to us that was placed outside our door. We have actually nothing bad to say. It was a bit noisy outside, but that is to be expected when staying so close to everything.
There are some noise outside, but all the positive outweighs that.

Verified reviewStefano is a very nice person and very helpful. The check-in process was very smooth, very helpul during my stay: restaurant tips, taxi calling etc. The accommodation is clean and modern, they offer water and some sodas in the fridge. The room is big.
It is a personal remark, I din not sleep all night lomg because of the street noises, thank God that we had an early flight. Even if specified that I need a quite room, I got this one. Maybe other rooms do not face that street and are less noisy, into an inner court maybe is better, if such exists. Thank you any way for all and you are doing a great job!

We are sorry about the noise from the street: our property is located right in the heart of Genoa’s vibrant city life, surrounded by shops, restaurants, fish markets, and the port, so it’s normal to hear some activity, especially in the rooms overlooking the inner alley. Paradoxically, the rooms facing the outside, towards the sea or the square, often tend to be quieter. For this reason, we always recommend ,if available ,requesting an external-facing room. The morning sounds you may hear are part of the daily life of this waterfront area, the heart of the city’s tourism and local activities, with deliveries, shop openings, and port movements. Verified reviewVery nicely furnished, comfortable and beautiful room, responsive host. The fridge was stocked with soft drinks. Host provided great recommendations. Easy to find.
Noisy location, especially in the morning. WiFi kept dropping-only worked at the door which was inconvenient. It’s not the safest neighborhood. Missing some important items in kitchen. ( kitchen towel and/or paper towels, pepper, salt grinder for the VERY coarse salt provided)Not enough hot water in the shower. No views as it looks on an alley.
Thank you for your comment and for appreciating the room and hospitality I want to clarify that salt was provided in both versions and the fridge contained only non-alcoholic drinks by our choice, as we also welcome families with children. However, we did leave a bottle of Ligurian wine in the room as a welcome gift The shower has a thermostatic mixer to easily adjust the temperature, so it was probably just a small oversight No other guests have reported Wi-Fi problems, so it was likely a temporary issue. We are always available to assist with any needs The area is the heart of Genoa’s historic center, very lively and well monitored by surveillance cameras, frequented by tourists and families Finally, you chose a room without a sea view, as clearly indicated in the description, which has a different price compared to rooms with a view If we have to take into account unfair reviews based only on personal moods, then maybe we should also leave a review about the conduct of our guests!

Location is perfect and very convenient as close to all main points of interest: port, main train station and historical center. The host Stefano & his brother are exceptionally welcoming, polite & professional. Accommodation is extremely clean and attention to details is remarkable.
