Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI really enjoyed my stay at B and D Dolce Vitta. When I first arrived there was a bit of confusion about how to get into the building, which wasn’t ideal (especially in the 30-degree heat after travelling!). It took me a little while to figure it out, so I think the check-in instructions could be made clearer. Once inside though, everything was great. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had everything I needed. I also met Ben and his wife, who are the loveliest people—so kind and welcoming. They gave me lots of helpful tips about the local area and food spots, and it was always easy to reach them if I needed anything. The location is excellent: only about 5 minutes from the heart of Trastevere, and 5–8 minutes to the nearest bus or tram stop (no metro nearby). Personally, I found walking easier—most main sights are around 30–40 minutes on foot, which was perfect for me as a solo traveller. Trastevere itself is amazing if you love food and a lively atmosphere, but this B&B is tucked away in a quieter spot, so you get the best of both worlds. Overall, a lovely place to stay—especially if you’re travelling alone.

United StatesThe walls could use some cleaning of unsightly smudges and some fixtures were broken.
A private small hotel room off a shared kitchen. Great location, quiet but a block from a main street and only 5 minutes walk to the restaurant center of Trastevere. AC worked great. Comfortable bed.

RomaniaThe walls were a little thin, as other reviews were stating, but we had good good luck with the people staying there as well as there wasn’t much noise
The location was very nice, this was my second time in Rome staying the Trastevere area and this time it was more enjoyable because the location was not so close to the more populated area and we were able to sleep. The location was close enough to a lot of restaurants and caffes so you didn’t have to walk a lot and central enough to be within 20-30 walking distance to other popular destinations.

ItalyOne of the walls in the room was affected by humidity. The room itself did not feel humid luckily. There wasn’t very good noise insulation so you can hear people talking from the next room. It wasn’t loud just something to consider.
Location, the host was very friendly and available.

GreeceWe stayed in La Grande Bellezza with my husband and two boys (12 and 11 yo). This apartment was perfectly located in the buzzing neighbourhood of Trastevere near authentic restaurants and bakeries. We particularly liked the restaurant around the corner called Rione 13! The area was away from the hectic hustle and bustle of central Rome, which we really appreciated, and the tram was only 2 mins walk away to take you to the most important tourist spots. Even though everything is within a pleasant 30min walk, if you don't want to take the tram. If you have young kids, there's a playground - as well as a fresh fruit & veg market every morning - just around the corner. We also really liked the vegetarian food counter in the market! The room itself was more spacious than made out in the pictures, which was a pleasant surprise. We slept on the main double bed and on the sofa bed which comfortably fit myself and my 12 year old son. Everything was super clean and there was even shampoo and bodywash in the shower. We usually stay in Airbnbs that have kitchens and laundry facilities. Although, we didn't have a kitchen in our room, there was a well equipped shared kitchen just down the short hall with a fridge, microwave and sink (no oven). They also provided cutlery and glasses/mugs. I didn't see plates, but we bought our own paper plates. For laundry, there was an affordable launderette 5min walk away which worked just fine for us. It's important to note that the windows in the room look out into the courtyard of the apartment building, which is common in older Roman buildings, so we didn't get much natural sunlight, but that's ok as we didn't spend that much time in the room. All in all, we had a very pleasant stay and would recommend Ben's place to anyone visiting Rome. Ben was also great at communicating with us!

GreeceThe walls were not so soundproof so we could hear the neighbours next door talking, nothing too much though. There was no noise at night. There was a problem with the door, it wouldn’t open with the code but Ben solved the problem very fast.
It was in a great location, close to everything. The place was very clean, and Ben was so helpful with everything even though we had a problem with the code of the door at checking in! He answered and solved the problem immediately!

ItalyIt is located in an older Roman condo complex so if you are not familiar with older Roman buildings it may be off putting. The B&B has a central entrance into a hallway with serval rooms. The rooms all have electronic doors with a very simple code (easily guessed) to enter the individual room. There are no interior locks on the door nor a peep hole. As single traveler this was not very comfortable.
Location is well located and walkable to transport/tourist locations.

TurkeyIt was located in a quiet neighborhood. I could already tell it was a safe place before even arriving at the hotel, as they shared all the security procedures with me. I never had any issues with the codes. A perfect place to stay alone — safe, quiet, and clean! Plus, it’s very close to all the lovely spots in Trastevere. You can easily access the metro, bus, supermarkets, and everything you need.

GermanyShower had mould, soap wasn't filled (also not after we asked for it to be filled), apartment was always smelly when we entered, toilet seat was broken, in the shared kitchen was also a weird smell and no dish wash or sponge, sink in bathroom didn't really drain and thus left ugly marks after using. Bathroom a little small and room a little dark but that would all be ok if the place was kept in good condition. Really a shame considering the possibility of making it a nice place in this location.
The only really good thing about this apartment is the location really.
