Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryThe room had only one big light, no small lamps so I could choose between darkness and a very sharp light. The bathroom was not clean. The guy in the reception has a bad manner. There are unnecessary rules like getting back until 0:30. (Nevertheless, in whole Milan there are plenty of unnecessary rules, quite the opposite of the rest of Italy.) Overall, you can perhaps get a much better room for this price. Ah yes, and the towel costs 3 euros in addition! :) It is not explained in the description. (It does contain only that the bed linen costs 2 euros.) So why don't they include it in the price, and it would be easier?
They gave me a larger room because there was a problem with the room I've booked and they didn't solve it in time. The room had a large bed, and a great view of the surrounding park and buildings.

There is a fairly spacious bedroom and a place to sit and use your laptop in the kitchen

BrazilThe receptionist was a bit rude, and impatient and even asked us not to use the 3rd bed in the room, even though we booked and paid for a room for three people, just because one of our friends couldn't be there in the end. Besides that, he only gave us one sheet and said we probably wouldn't need another one because it was too hot.
The room was clean and comfortable. The location was also nice and easy to get by bus or metro.

ColombiaThey asked me for 10 euros in exchange for the key to the locker which they would give me back when I handed it in but so far they have not given me the money back but they were very insistent reminding me all the time that I had to hand it in.
The person who greeted me at the front desk was very kind, let me put my things away before check in time and did everything possible to make sure I got in before the check in time.

NorwayJesus is Lord. I got to pray freely to our Lord Jesus Christ, early in the morning. I felt comfortable talking to him who rose from the dead on the third day. The people were very helpful when I needed information. The recommendation for food was excellent. Follow the instructions for finding the hostel carefully, it will save too much extra walking.

Czech RepublicEven tho this is in Milan, the price is just way too high. But I guess this is not the problem of only this hostel rather then for all of hotels and hostels in the area. It had the most basic things like showers, toilets, common room, but still that was it. Somehow the whole night there is a dog behind the sleeping area who have to bark all the time. AND YOU HAVE TO HEAR IT. But I guess this was to be expected from hostel.
the staff was very welcoming and friendly, new contacts you as a traveler have a chance to meet.

PolandThe hostel needs an overall renovation, especially the bathrooms, as they were quite in bad condition. There were no towels. There are some weird additional rules - like no eating or drinking in your room or not using stairs (only elevator). Other guests did not respect no smoking policy. PAY ATTENTION TO THE FACT THAT BUILDING IS CLOSED BETWEEN 00:30 AND 9:30, SO YOU MUST BE THERE AT THESE TIMES AND CANNOT LEAVE.
The staff was super nice and helpful! :) It was also close to San Siro stadium (10 min walk).
