Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThere were ants in the room, the room is on the last floor which makes it very hot (no AC, so very hot nights). Count 3 euros for a towel, but the host was kind enough to offer us the second one. The bathrooms were spacious but unclean and the toilet paper would not flush, meaning we had to throw it in the trash (making the bathroom smell).
The room was spacious and big windows allowed for bright mornings. Access to fridge and microwave. Tram line 1 (to go to the city) was nearby (5 min) and ok neighborhood.

IndiaBed was squeaky. Room had fans but it was summer and those wall fans were not helpful, the air couldn't reach the lower bed. No security to room, anybody can enter to your room. Return by 00:30 midnight to hostel, else you can enter since there is no key to hostel or room, you have to ring at reception each timeto enter the building. Bathrooms were old and should be improvised from drainage perspective, it stink sometimes in one of the shower room. The cushions on common area's chair are old and aren't comfortable, should be replaced with new one. The bed mattresses were too uncomfortable, since were very old.
It was near to city attractions like Torre Banca, Parco Semipone, Arco dla Pace, Castello Sforzesco. Hostel has kitchen though not fully equipped but has minimum cutlery, microwave and refrigerator. Free locker woth lock pad with some deposit which you will get back on returning the key. Clean kitchen, common area and bathrooms. Common area is good. Tram 1,19 and bus 57 are easily and frequently available near to hostel. Safe place and near to Lidl supermarket and other mini markets.

Poland- the shower has poor pressure - I understand it cause it is 5th floor but if someone have long hair - plan 5 minutes more for a shower ;) - you can hear some sounds from other rooms. During our stay people were super, just normal, but if you do not sleep very deep, better take stopers.
- I do not understand complaints about times when you cannot go in. It is clearly written in the description. I think this is very good rule. Maybe thankfully to that there were no drunk, noisy people in the apartment. - The rule with giving the key back seemed to be weird at the first moment, but I appreciate it - you do not need to be afraid of losing the key. The owner or workers were not too talkative, key was just waiting at the desk and that is all. Highly appreciate! - The room was big, there was warm in the apartment. With rainy, cold days, I was always going back happy. - The place is really clean. Owner every day cleaned it on his own. There is some calc in the bathroom but it is not a dirt. - Microwave. This is my must have during holidays. - When microwave was broken, owner put the new one in a few hours. Super! - sorting trash. In my country we always sort everything so I feel guilty if there is no possibility to do it also in the hotel. - Bus stop just by the doors. - Good communication to the center of city.

TaiwanWe booked a room for three people, and it was clearly that it was a three-person room when we booked it. However, when we arrived at the hostel, they said the room was for two people only (but have three beds in a room), and they charged us 30 more euros, otherwise they would not let us live there. This experience was very unpleasant, and there was a fee for towels, but no towels were provided in the room.

ItalyThere was no air conditioner and it was impossible to sleep during this season also we could not keep the window open since it was a shared balcony. Also, we should arrive at night before midnight since there is no one to open the door for us after that time.

Finland- The prearrival coordinations: even after informing I made a mistake in the booking, I was told I could lose my reservation if I didn't show up at 17h the second day of my stay (when reception is open from 12h to 24h). Although they offered some discount in the local taxes later it was a bitter process to go through. - The facilities: with 38°C, the fan was not enough to lower the temperature. We couldn't sleep until 2am. - You can only return to the hostel between 14h and 24h.
It was a cheap option, and the owner put a good effort to keep it clean and organized. Also he offered some nice suggestions for restaurants.
