How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThis is our second time that we had our summer break in this house. This feels like coming home. Just 3 minutes walk out of the center of Pietrasanta so you can leave your car at the private parking at the house. Everything is super clean. The swimming pool is fantastic, spacious rooms, well organized terrace outside, and the staff…wow they do everything to make you feel comfortable. We loved everything again, so we will definitely come back!

Verified reviewWe LOVED our stay. Everything was perfect! Suzanne was the most incredible host. The house, gardens, rooms, breakfast - it was all beautiful. The location was perfect too - it was very quiet, yet just 5 minutes walk into the heart of Pietrasanta. We WILL be back!
Nothing, it was GREAT!

Verified reviewWe loved the relaxed but very stylish feel of the place, the warm hospitality, the decor, the lovely little touches (biscuits and plenty of water, tea and coffee) and the gem that is Pietrasanta which we loved more than Lucca or Pisa. Suzanne is a great host and we enjoyed chatting with her over a glass of wine. Breakfast is fresh and served with a smile by Anna and Magdalena. It’s a perfect spot - quiet and walkable to the gorgeous town, but also just 30 minutes from both Lucca and Pisa and 40 minutes to the boats/train at La Spezia for Cinque Terre. The pool was very welcoming at the end of days spent sightseeing and we loved the friendly welcome home from Suzanne’s gorgeous dogs.
Nothing. It was a home from home but better than home!

Verified reviewThere was not a thing that we did not like:). The place is insane. Great location. Only 5 minutes on foot from the center of town in a quiet and very pleasant area. We had a room on the ground floor with a tiny garden while the house itself is fabulous. There is a very comfortable garden, a swimming pool with loungers so comfortable that you just fall asleep on them, a common room where you have a coffee maker and a kettle. Every morning delicious breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff of the facility:).
It's hard to write what we didn't like because simply everything was brilliant.

Verified reviewThe location is superb, within a 5 minute walk of the centre of Pietrasanta, a lovely town, full of interesting art and sculpture. Spazio D'Arte is a lovely spot with excellent facilities, including the swimming pool. The staff, Patrizia and Arora were incredibly helpful. The breakfast that was included in the price was good too and also provided the opportunity to meet other residents which gave added value to our holiday experience.
Nothing to add!

Verified reviewLovely house decorated beautifully and to a very high standard. Our room was spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing, very luxurious. Soft drinks and water replenished every day. The whole property has been very well thought out, including a drinks station available for guests to use with tea, coffee and extra water. The garden is wonderful with lots of places to sit and relax and the pool area is fabulous too. Breakfast was lovely, with a good selection available. The whole experience was amazing. With only 4 rooms it felt more like being in a luxury villa with friends than in a B&B. Aurora and Patrizia were perfect hosts and made our stay very special. We look forward to returning. Pietrasanta is a fabulous town and we were 10 mins walk from the centre. Fabulous restaurants, independent boutiques and art on every corner. A good base to explore the surrounding area by car or train. Easy to get to Florence, Pisa, Lucca and Cinque Terra by train as we did. There is secure parking on the property and they provide bikes for guests use too. We would highly recommend staying here, a true gem.

Verified reviewSuper ! Everything was remarkable and staff has been super friendly and client oriented
If there had been a bit more lighting in the room, especially in the bathroom, it would have been perfect. This is a little miss to improve

Verified reviewA beautiful hideaway in Pietrasanta, easy walking distance to town and to the train station. Aurora and Patrizia went out of their way to ensure that we had a fantastic stay, and the accommodation has lots of little details which were subtle but very much appreciated. Because there is only a total of 4 rooms, it was generally a very peaceful stay, and we often had the pool to ourselves. Breakfast was served with a lot of care and attention, and Silvia ensured that the rooms were spotless every day.
This wasn't a negative for us - the staff are not on site the whole time (although with advance communication are happy to be flexible with regards to check in etc). We enjoyed being left to our own devices but some may prefer a fully staffed place.
