What is so good about tthe Sonnega Hotel? The people who run it! Their hospitality and professionalisme makes it worthwile to travel along the long and curly road along the lake. If you travel during suitable hours (early or late) it is oke. If you are tired of the Italian of German motorways it is a tough job.

Breakfast is much better than it was 3 years ago. However they now serve så many different things in the buffet that most hot foods are cold (pancakes) og most cold foods are hot (yogurt). A suggestion is scaling down and focus og fewer items😊

It was a hike from the ferry station. There were no fans and AC didnt work....We were on second floor and kept doors open whole night and that helped.

My room had nice view of lake...Not a great one but it was good. Breakfast spread was amazing. Staff was very friendly. Very clean place.

The very steep cobbled route down to the town was very challenging - we found we could only manage to go up and down once a day however it is only about a 20 minute walk- worth the effort as the town is so gorgeous!

Super pool and an incredible buffet breakfast. The family that own it are so lovely and really helpful. One of the sons helped us out enormously when there was a train strike and we had problems getting to our next location. Our room was large with a balcony and a fridge. The rooms are basic but clean. Nice food offered in the evening. Pleasant panoramic views of the mountains in a quiet location.

Somebody from the staff were trying to open our door at 11:20 pm when we were sleeping, when I asked to stop opening my door the representative said that somebody told him that it was not occupied, didn’t even apologize… complete madness.

Wifi was useless. I was told they will fix it (reboot) but that didnt help.

wifi just did not work / I reported but still no wifi hot water in faucet in bathroom and also in shower not ok / took very long before I got some warm water and it was never hot central heating at night poor / last 2 nights of the 4 nights It was very cold in my room / could not get the system to work Also very very electricity sockets in the walls to charge a phone / I found one in the bathroom only! And yes, later I found out I could unplug the TV cable for phone charger but then the TV did not work

Bathroom was a little outdated, shower handle was pointy and scratched us a couple of times. We were only given decaf coffee in the room which seemed a bit odd haha.

Great hotel and facilities, lovely staff and huge selection at breakfast! Location is up a hill, with views out over the town. Room was huge, plenty of storage and a lovely balcony.

A bit far from Menaggio center, definitely need a car to go there. In the room there were two separate sigle beds one next to another and they were not particularly comfortable. You can add breakfast with 15€ per person but it wasn’t that good.
