Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTakes a little exploring to find the property, but Stefano met me at the front door so it was all good!
Stefano was very friendly and gave me lots of great recommendations about Verona. The air conditioning works well, the room was clean, the bathroom was good and there was a kitchen available.

United KingdomThe only real negative was our first 2 nights we didn’t have the room we paid for as we paid for one with a balcony but we did our last night. Once the host explained the situation and reassured we could have it for our last day and night.
The facilities were very good and for a shared kitchen there was plenty of equipment. The host was super helpful and friendly with any questions we had about the place and also provided us with a map which was handy.

NetherlandsNice accommodation, good price for money. The room was equipped with everything, and the bathroom was quite spacious. The location was great, it's right next to a bus stop and the city centre is only like a 15 minutes walk away. Salvatore was really friendly and helpful, he gave some good tips for the city on what to see and where to eat.

United Kingdom- The room needed a repaint and the bathroom wasn’t as clean as it could’ve been! - Option for more towels and toilet rolls may be a good idea for guests staying longer than three days. - Salvatore asks you to sign quite a wordy A4 document which is a contract, effectively, but it is wholly in Italian. There should be equivalents in other languages available for those who do not understand Italian.
Salvatore was friendly and welcoming. He was helpful and available via text throughout the stay (though I did not need to contact him). I liked the fact I had air con in my room as the weather was so hot and humid I don't think I would've slept so well otherwise. The shared kitchen was really useful for me and equipped with the basics. It has a coffee machine, cafetière and moka which is great. There is a nice big fridge too which came in handy as I was there for 5 nights. The place was quiet and I didn't hear much at all from other guests. I slept well. Nice easy walk into Piazza Bra taking around 15 mins. Bus stop across the road if you don’t want to walk, also takes you direct to the train station. Supermarket around the corner. It was nice to be staying a little outside the centre in Borgo Trento - I preferred it.

PortugalThat was nothing I didn't like.
The owner was really kind. He told me about what I should visit, what i could eat and some places he recommended. I couldn't ask for more. The room was big, comfy and very clean. Nothing was missing. It is in a walking distance from the historical center (about 15 min)

CanadaIt is nearly impossible to find. Even the bus driver didn’t know the address when we were actually at the Square. Very poor communication from Management. When asked which bus stop to take, they simply sent you the address of the location again. It is important to get of at “Ospedale Maggiore” Don’t look for the Piazzale. you’ll be right in front of the building. Look for the address number and enter the building. Even inside there is no sign of the hotel. Enter the building, turn left, take the elevator to the third-floor. Hopefully Salvatore is waiting for you. Otherwise you need to phone him. Noisy place because it is an old building and it is right on a busy traffic Square.
I stayed in a beautiful room with a very nice bathroom. Nicely decorated and everything in good working order. Also a limited kitchen that can be used.

United KingdomLimited street parking - difficult to park close to the apartment although there was a big underground car park that we somehow missed not too far away. It was fine for what we needed. A little noisy at night but nothing too much.
In Verona for a big concert - impossible to find accommodation but this apartment was great. A walk from the centre of town but easy to reach by car. Great coffee machine in the kitchen with lots of coffee etc. Good for what we needed.

PortugalThe kitchen could have better supplies, in the sense that the knifes were bad, there was no olive oil (which I could've bought, but I just didn't want to walk around with it). I wish there were recycling bins since there are outside the apartment.
The room was very clean, there were a lot of bus stops near the house, as well as supermarkets. Salvatore was very helpful and told me about what to visit, what to ect ect etc. Gratzie mille 🥰

United KingdomSome of the kitchen utensils need updating e.g. blunt knives, and a slightly larger and less wobbly set of furniture for the balcony would be great.
We booked the larger room which was a great size for 2 with a modern bathroom. Comfortable bed and a good air conditioning system. It was nice to have the bonus of a balcony, though it was a little noisy as the apartment is very near to the hospital so some siren noise throughout the night. Our host was very friendly and flexible as we arrived later than planned and he was happy to talk us through a map of Verona which was most helpful.

United KingdomThis is my worst holiday accommodation experience for years. Stay somewhere else in Verona if you can! Check-in was a nightmare. There was no communication in advance of me arriving so I had no idea what the arrangements were. When I arrived and called, the owner said he would be able to let me in in 20mins but arrived 40mins later. He didn't speak any languages other than Italian - I speak English, German, and French - and seemed annoyed I couldn't understand him. He gave me a contract to sign (again, in Italian only) when I was eventually let in and was impatient when I used my phone to translate it before signing, rolling his eyes and telling me "every other tourist just signs it". The room itself was filthy, particularly the bathroom. There was dirt, dust, and grime everywhere (see photos for an example, but I could have taken 20 photos more like that) and the sheets weren't clean. I was able to wipe new toothpaste stains off the sink in the bathroom with paper when I arrived and they came off, so it seemed the bathroom simply hadn't been cleaned since the last occupant! There is very little privacy. What the photos and description don't make clear enough in my opinion is that you're basically renting a room in a shared flat in a residential block, as you would as a university student. This means that you can all hear each other. The constant rotation of people in different rooms at different times means the kitchen and communal area are never tidy. The room I was in had thin windows and looked out over a busy roundabout, so there is loud traffic all through the night. There isn't much in the neighbourhood and there is a walk into the main city centre. This was fine for me, but for a lot of visitors the location won't be ideal. Verona is a beautify city but staying here really spoilt the experience for me.
