How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had the best stay! Alessandra was so friendly, accommodating and quick to respond. Room was clean and serviced every day. Property was in a great location too. There was even a light complimentary breakfast included - going above and beyond for guests!

The fridge wasn't very effective, which would have been useful with high temperature outside.
Comfortable beds. Excellent communication with host. Great location.

Alessandra was lovely and so welcoming. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. Access to a communal kitchen meant it was easy to make your own breakfast and snacks. We were able to leave our luggage after checkout time to allow us to explore the city for longer. Location was excellent.

Everything was fabulous. No negatives.
ALESSANDRA & staff were amazing, kind & accommodating. The room was serviced every day & breakfast was put out daily in a shared kitchen. Everything was catered for and room was lovely! Location was ideal -cafes, supermarkets, shops etc all close by. Would stay again!

We had such a great stay here! It was the perfect little spot for me, my boyfriend, and my sister. The place was super cute, very clean, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was amazing — close to everything, which made exploring really easy. The air conditioning was a huge bonus, especially on the warmer days! Alessandra was very communicative and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. Everything felt just right, and we’d definitely stay here again.

You had to walk up a couple of flights of stairs which is tough with luggage.
Right in the heart of Florence this location was perfect. The host was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. The room was clean and very comfortable and had fully functioning AC.

There's only 1 dustbin in the toilet and room is pretty small for 3 pax, only able to fit 3 cabin sized luggage and 3 bags with enough space to walk in the room
It was very clean and comfortable bed, there's daily housekeeping provided and change of towels every 2 days, alessandra is very friendly and helpful in checking in and giving recommendations in Florence.

The availability of all the basic items. How the husband was kind enough to bring our luggage up the 28 steps and brought us through the unit.

No elevator but owner helped with luggage personally. I don’t know how many hotels really have elevators in Florence.
Clean. Great Location. Even though breakfast wasn’t included, the owner had put out basic breakfast out in the kitchen for all the guests. I like coffee with real milk in the morning and it’s a great convenience to have it right in the kitchen as you get out of bed.

Great location, clean and very good value for money! It was easy to find and the check-in and check-out went great with Alessandra’s help and instructions. Cannot recommend this enough, definitely going back! Alessandra was a super host, great communications and always willing to help!

85 yrs so stairs are not my favourite thing.

Excellent location, no road noise. Bed was super comfortable, very clean, newly renovated. The owner Alessandra welcomed us and helped me settle in. My friend was arriving an hour later and she made arrangements for her to self check-in with ease. I would stay at this property again. Room had heater to stay warm.

The room was fantastic and exactly as advertised. There was plenty of space for my family of five, including three teenage boys. The host could not have been more friendly or accommodating. The last minute, we wanted to extend our visit by one night and she very graciously accommodated us without any trouble. We look forward to returning to Florence and staying here again! She doesn’t include a free breakfast in the mornings but my family decided to skip it each morning in favor of sleeping in. But definitely an added bonus for anyone interested.

Very welcoming host! Alessandra welcomed us and explained the rules of the accommodation in addition to giving city recommendations! T he location is perfect, close to restaurants, bars, the main sightseeings, and the train station. The room was exceptionally clean.
