Overall a very good hotel. Great spa and swimming pool, big gym (a bit outdated but had everything), great breakfast, comfortable room. Amazing location

As it is a 5 star hotel, I have high expectations. We had a couple of things that made our stay a bit uncomfortable. The bathroom smelled constantly bad. We told the receptionist who acted promptly, the room smelled better for a few hours but it went back to a bad smell for the rest of our stay. Fortunately the toilet and the main bathroom were separated so the problem was limited. The second problem was with a spoiled oyster at dinner. My wife ate it before realizing it. Smell and taste was terrible and it ruined her dinner. Fortunately she didn't get sick from it, our biggest worry during the night.

Amazing choice at breakfast and dinner. I was really impressed with the standard of the main meals each night. I didn't always have all the courses as too much food for me. You can also pick n choose from the vegetarian menu. They offer cake and tea mid afternoon (included in the half board) but I was always out exploring so didn't try this. Staff go out of their way to be helpful and very friendly. Great location. Fantastic spa, I had a lovely Alpine Spice treatment. Left me feeling very relaxed. I wish I'd booked to stay here for the remainder of my trip, sad to leave.

    Nothing.

Nice pool and gym. The Restaurant staff tried hard to give their best. Unfortunately breakfast was not close to any 5 Star Standard.

The hotel is located directly in the center of Compatsch, right on the main road. Most rooms face this road, making it impossible to sleep peacefully during summer nights with open windows due to constant traffic noise from buses, cars, and motorcycles. Guests on nearby parking lots were talking and laughing until 2:00 AM. Despite informing the night porter—who didn’t understand a word of English—no action was taken, and not even at check-out did the hotel acknowledge or apologize for the noise disturbance. I stayed for three nights and experienced three nights of severely disturbed sleep. I was later told that only the suites face the quieter side of the property—something not disclosed on the website. Why was my explicit request on Booking.com for a quiet room not honored or even forwarded to the hotel? To this day, I have received no explanation from Booking.com. This hotel does not deserve 5 Stars by any international Standard.

Excellent restaurant providing plenty of choice for a very good breakfast and dinner with the half board option. Spa area good with large indoor pool linking to smaller outside pool, steam room, 2 saunas and ice plunge pool, relaxation area. Enjoyed a massage in the spa.

Found the mattress a bit too hard and uncomfortable for our taste, but when we asked at reception they kindly provided a mattress topper which made a big difference to comfort and better quality sleep.

Very nice resturant with a great menu and wonderful staff.....attentive, engagaging. Front desk staff were all very helpful and went so far as to show us around the room, something that rarely happens these days. Great location in a beautiful area. Very close to awesome hiking and amazing scenery.

Nothing really; a bit spendy but we enjoyed ourselves. We considered it a treat during our visit to the beautiful Dolomites.

The atmosphere in the hotel was relaxed, even laidback. The staff - particularly in the cosy restaurant and stylish bar - were friendly, multilingual, and highly professional. Our room and bathroom were spacious and comfortable with a mountain view and with everything we needed including a kettle, fridge, and daily supplies of tea, instant coffee, and mineral water. We chose half board and the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet and the nightly salad buffet both had a generous and inviting range of options. We eat fish but not meat, and were really pleased by the choices every night from the two half board menus; one with meat and fish, one solely vegetarian, and with the ability to pick your dishes from both. A typical dinner for us has comprised five courses: salad, soup, pasta, fish, and dessert - all of smallish size (but not the tiny Nouvelle Cuisine type of portion with more garnish than food), superb quality, and enough creativity in the use of ingredients and flavourings to make you feel “ooh; that’s a slightly new combination but it really works”. The fish and veg were perfectly cooked every time, the handmade pasta gorgeous, and the desserts truly excellent. On two of our nights there was a special menu: one night the desserts were provided as a buffet, and on another there was a Tyrolean buffet. That was mostly focused on meat eaters, but there was a good vegetarian soup and traditional dumplings of spinach and cheese, plus plenty of vegetables, so we didn’t go hungry. One thing that has seemed a bit strange to us: if you want cheese at the end of your meal you have to pay extra for it. Having said that, the salad buffet includes some nice cheeses and chutneys, so just have them at the start of the meal rather than the end. The wine list is really good, with a particuarly lovely selection of local wines.

The hotel’s ski room is in the basement. We were surprised that there was no security other than a camera; surely anyone could walk in from the street and take your boots and skis. Most other hotels we’ve used for skiing have required a code or keycard to access the ski room and/or have provided secure ski lockers for each guestroom. There would be plenty of space for such lockers in this room: perhaps this is something for the hotel owners to consider. Access to the pistes and lifts is OK, but it’s not really a ski-in ski-out hotel. From the ski room you need to take the lift up to the ground floor and then walk down the quite steep driveway onto a small road. The road takes you up to a blue piste, the ski school, the children’s area, and the main cable car lift that comes up from Suisi in the valley below - all 100-250m away. In our first few days here, despite being cleared of snow and gritted each morning, the driveway was still slippery for anyone in ski boots, requiring a lot of care; indeed, we saw several skiers slipping and one person fall. We told the reception staff we were finding it difficult and, the next day, a strip of fresh snow was kept at one side of the driveway, which was much easier to walk on (thanks!). It would be even better if the hotel added a rubber mat or some other surface that’s safe to use in ski boots, perhaps with a handrail.
