Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesA bit far from other tourist attractions and piazzas. But excellent location for visiting the Vatican.
Clean, updated, lots of room, air conditioned. The space is exactly as pictured. The neighborhood is 2 blocks from the Vatican walls, quiet, safe, upscale Prati neighborhood. There are lots of late night restaurants and every morning we had delicious pastries, sandwiches and cappuccinos at Clementinas around the corner (recommended by Cynthia).

United StatesIt would be nice to have real cups or a least paper cups for hot drinks. The plastic cups were not ideal for hot drinks. It was flimsy to hold. Breakfast was patchy. Sometimes the pastries are out on the table but most times it's hidden in the kitchen closet tho it's always there, but you end up looking and searching for your food! Not very efficient especially if you are running late and getting to an early city tour. Also, no trash bins in the breakfast area. We end up tossing it in our small trash bins in our rooms. Lastly, it would be great to have or add a towel rod or hooks close to the shower. The wall mounted rack/ladder is aesthetically pretty but was not user friendly in my opinion.
Excellent location if your focus is visiting the Sistine Chapel, Vatican Museum and the Basilica. Though I might say the metro is a block or two away to other exciting Rome sites. What I also liked are the restaurants just when you step out from your building apartment and convenient stores/mini mart that is so close. Breakfast is self serve. A small eating area equipped with cappuccino/espresso/coffee machine. If you need hot water for tea you have a kettle in your room. (plus a small fridge) Pastry and a small selection of fruit is also available. When it comes to the room - it is quite spacious, comfortable bed, air-conditioned, clean and no toxic cleaning smell! The place also has a cute tiny elevator suitable for 2 persons with only carry on bags.

AustraliaThe lift wasn't working when we left, the apartment is on the 4th floor, so it was difficult to get our suitcases down the flight of stairs.
Staying at St. Peter FortyTwo was a pleasant surprise. Cythnia was a wonderful host. The family apartment we stayed in was spacious and plenty of room for 4 people. The location is excellent with plenty of restaurants, cafes and a supermarket across the road. It is very close to the Vatican City. It is also only a 25-minute walk into Rome central. All round a very comfortable apartment for a 2-night stay in Rome, we loved it!

United StatesChecking in wasn't the best. We had let the host know our arrival time, so we thought someone would be there to greet us. Since no one was there, we weren't sure what to do. It turns out she was checking someone else in at another location! It was only about a 15 minute delay, but after traveling 24 hours it is always tough to arrive at a new place in another country with no one to greet you. There was no way for us to get in without our host and she had not communicated to us that she would be delayed. So, it was a bit stressful as we waited since we had no idea when she would arrive.
This was a great fine! They have a total of 3 rooms and our family booked all 3 of them. At first we thought we should stay on the other side of the river, but this place worked out great (very close to the Vatican). It is just a couple of blocks from the subway station (be careful of pick pockets) so it was convenient to get around Rome. There was a very nice breakfast spread with hard boiled eggs, pastries, yogurt, fruit and a coffee machine that was ready each morning by 7:30. There was a convenient elevator to use for anyone not wanting to walk up several flight of stairs. The place was very clean and modern. I would gladly stay here again!

GreeceThe street can be somewhat noisy, although the rooms are at 4th floor.
The location is great. The Vatican museums are 3 minutes walking distance. There is a metro station just 2' away with stops to Termini, Pz d. Popolo, Pz d. Spagna. Walking to the center takes about 25 minutes. The rooms are cozy and very clean. The hostess (Cynthia) was very helpful. Lots of stuff to do around if you want to avoid the masses of the city center.
