How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe location as excellent. Very close to sites, good restaurants and the main train station. The staff was very helpful.
The room was a loft. I slept upstairs, where the hot air rises. It was only bearable with a loud, oscillating fan. The breakfast included was terrible. I found a nice place to eat out.

Verified reviewNothing to like
It was advertised as a non smoking but I was encouraged to use the ash tray provided. No windows...so no natural light. The television could not swivel, hence not able to view screen properly. The advertised facilities were not as advertised. Very, very disappointing.

Verified reviewThe hotel is a good value option, not far from the main sights of Catania and a reasonable walk (or short taxi) from the train station. The room was reasonable for our 1-night stay and allowed us to explore a bit of the city, with an easy transfer to the airport from there. The continental breakfast was good - we especially liked the warm cornetti & pastries, and the coffee & cappuccinos. The 3-person room was big and fine for one night (it had one big bed and two singles, which were small but comfortable). The single-person room we also rented was very, very small (and we are used to european standards).
The hotel is basic, but as above, is decent value for a less expensive short stay. Guests should note the 3 staircases to climb to get to the hotel (no elevator) - it would not be an option for anyone with mobility issues or difficulty carrying luggage that far. The service was acceptable, but we were a bit surprised at the desk clerk's loud, prolonged shouting match with someone on her phone as we were sitting in the waiting area, a few feet from her desk. Still, we can say that service was fine overall, and we appreciated their good communication with us and help arranging our taxi.

Verified reviewThe location of the hotel is perfect. It's very easy to achieve the city attractions by foot. Also, there is a direct bus between the airport and the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is tasty.

Dear Sirs, we do not understand the reason why external events, which occurred on one of the busiest streets in the city, in a nightlife area, teeming with restaurants, bars, pubs and frequented by thousands of people, could have influenced your opinion of our hotel to the point of giving us a very negative score. We believe that we cannot be held responsible if criminals break windows or damage vehicles or other property along the road. Just for the knowledge of the reader. Kind regards.

Verified reviewNice facilities and the owners allowed us to store our bags earlier, breakfast was nice and the facilities were great. The two beds in one room weren’t the best for our family, but overall a large room, nice facilities and only a quick walk to heart of Catania. Not a bad spot overall and staff were very nice and friendly.
All in the one room

Verified reviewThe staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the location is really central.
It is extremely noisy in the night, it is near a main road and it is very hard to sleep. The walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors. Read the description thoroughly. My room was 11 sq. m.

Verified reviewNot sure how this hotel has 3 stars. It’s 2 maximum in my opinion. Beds are extremely uncomfortable and basically I did not sleep all night
Better mattresses also no bedside table, no head board behind bed. No bedside light
Dear Madam, good morning. You booked and occupied, for 1 night only, a double room on 2 levels as indicated on the site. This room consists of a living area on the first level with a living room entrance in which, among other things, there is a sofa and a sleeping area, on the second level, which is accessed by an internal staircase, where the bedroom is located with 1 double bed, bedside tables, lights, TV and everything else that is provided. You, for some reason unknown to us, occupied and slept on the sofa in the living room and not in the bedroom. The above is for appropriate clarification. Greetings

Verified reviewThe breakfast selection was very good. I enjoyed the cappuccino and the croissants. The location of the hotel is close to the main Duomo piazza, and not far from Catania Centrale.
The signage in front of the hotel could be improved. The pavements/side walks directly in front of the hotel are very narrow. So, pedestrians are regularly stepping into the busy road.

Horrible location! Did not feel safe! Surrounding neighborhood is full of garbage and gravity. Was told it was not safe to park in front of hotel, was advised to use a paid parking lot. Very small room. You need 3 different keys to get into your room. Air didn’t work well, not even a paper cup provided, shower was a joke! The shower head was covered with mold. Sand in the sheets 😩

Verified reviewIt is not a hotel! They don’t have a parking! It is a part of a floor in a scary building in a scary part of the city!
Your judgment is false. You haven't even entered. You wanted private parking and it is clearly written that it is not available. You could park in front of the hotel 1 meter from the front door. You wanted to cancel the reservation and have the refund that you could not get. Fake your review and fake you.

Verified reviewLocation was ok. Rooms were large and clean. Adequate towels and amenities. Staff did try and help.
Entry into hotel was from street. No support and had to call twice to find out how to enter. Poorly lit frontage. Street parking was terrible and had to park vehicle 300m away then carry bags. Iron provided on request but no ironing board available.
