Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe room was a loft. I slept upstairs, where the hot air rises. It was only bearable with a loud, oscillating fan. The breakfast included was terrible. I found a nice place to eat out.
The location as excellent. Very close to sites, good restaurants and the main train station. The staff was very helpful.

CanadaThe hotel is basic, but as above, is decent value for a less expensive short stay. Guests should note the 3 staircases to climb to get to the hotel (no elevator) - it would not be an option for anyone with mobility issues or difficulty carrying luggage that far. The service was acceptable, but we were a bit surprised at the desk clerk's loud, prolonged shouting match with someone on her phone as we were sitting in the waiting area, a few feet from her desk. Still, we can say that service was fine overall, and we appreciated their good communication with us and help arranging our taxi.
The hotel is a good value option, not far from the main sights of Catania and a reasonable walk (or short taxi) from the train station. The room was reasonable for our 1-night stay and allowed us to explore a bit of the city, with an easy transfer to the airport from there. The continental breakfast was good - we especially liked the warm cornetti & pastries, and the coffee & cappuccinos. The 3-person room was big and fine for one night (it had one big bed and two singles, which were small but comfortable). The single-person room we also rented was very, very small (and we are used to european standards).

AustraliaAll in the one room
Nice facilities and the owners allowed us to store our bags earlier, breakfast was nice and the facilities were great. The two beds in one room weren’t the best for our family, but overall a large room, nice facilities and only a quick walk to heart of Catania. Not a bad spot overall and staff were very nice and friendly.

BulgariaIt is extremely noisy in the night, it is near a main road and it is very hard to sleep. The walls are very thin, so you can hear your neighbors. Read the description thoroughly. My room was 11 sq. m.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the location is really central.

United KingdomThe signage in front of the hotel could be improved. The pavements/side walks directly in front of the hotel are very narrow. So, pedestrians are regularly stepping into the busy road.
The breakfast selection was very good. I enjoyed the cappuccino and the croissants. The location of the hotel is close to the main Duomo piazza, and not far from Catania Centrale.

United KingdomBreakfasts were a little modest - mainly pastries - fruit not especially enticing. Location was initially a bit scary - a very busy road that seemed rather run down but once we had been there for a couple of days, we recognised that Catania is a bit run down but safer than it might look at first glance.
The staff were amazing, extremely helpful. It's a small operation and the staff do everything they can to keep guests happy.

PolandDespite all the bad things I did not like , according to the price i paid and it location I would come back,but... Taking as European standards, it should not be named as Hotel and is far away a 3 stars Hotel, but if you take this in consideration like we did before going then is good. Breakfast was include in the price, it is ok in order to take some coffee or eat some orange, mandarine, apple or banana which they have, but is far away to be good breakfast when you see such amazing food they have in Italy and Catania: for breakfast they have slice 🍞 bread, boiled ham , slice cheese , cheap salami, butter, croissant, and couple of other cakes, couple of cereals and some hot chocolate if you want, if you like those things is ok but for Italian food standard the quality of products is very bad, which was ok because i saw in the photo ,they are not lying. Catania city out of the city center street like via etnea is very dirty, the street of the hotel to direction to the station is no easy to walk in pavement as is narrow and they are passing cars and so on. The street behind the hotel if you want to go to Lidl better go in the day, as the 400 metres street to go there are small streets corridors very dirty with ruins blocks and are street with prostitutes and strange people. The street to go to station and to the center is ok, light and with people.
The location is very good, around 7-10 min from the train station ( 700 metres) , and easy to find , all the street straight where you will see the sea ( not the beach) and a bit to the left and there is the station. 5 minutes by walk from the via etnea street or Duomo square . 7 minutes walk from Piazza Dell Borselino where you can take the Alibus ( bus to the airport from there is 10-15min) dont take the bus in Republica or in the station because it make whole round in the city. From Piazza dell Borselino you can take the public bus as well to go to the Catania beach (1eur) The room is clean, hotel as well , they were cleaning everyday our room they were asking when we were leaving in order to clean the room. Lidl or Eurospin 300 metres from hotel. We book the family room which consist in a split level room, you enter the room, in the right there is the private toilet, in the room there is a double bed and a small balcony( only to stand not to sit for a drink or something like that), and little stairs inside the room and up 3 single beds. People in reception were very nice, room and reception is in 1st , 2nd floor of building and you can leave your luggage there after check out of hitel

FranceThe breakfast whilst adequate for a 3 star hotel was disappointing as the bread, ham and cheese were industrial. However the croissants were fresh and coffee excellent and the fruit and yoghurts welcome. Parking, payable by card from a meter close by, was available on the street outside but our experience suggests that it is safer to use the carpark close by suggested by the hotel. The address given by the hotel is the exit of the carpark but it is easy to see and therefore to find the entrance to this outdoor parking which has a degree of security.
The staff were all helpful and friendly., the bedroom well cleaned and the heating very good. The room needed some maintenance and it would appear that systems in the bathroom were not regularly checked. The shower was in need of repair, which was done promptly and the toilet water often ran without stopping. The towels and soaps were plentiful and changed or topped up daily.

BulgariaThere is no private parking - we had to park on the street (paid parking - 1 euro per night & 2.90 euro per half day). The room was rather small for 5 people. The bathroom was OK.
The hotel is very centrally located - 5 to 7 minutes walk from the Piazza Duomo. The breakfast is OK - not super, but good enough. The room was clean. The receptionist was speaking very good English and was very helpful.

United KingdomWell located for the historic area with a few minutes walk and a simple 20 minute walk to the main train and bus stations. The hotel is one floor of a building with associated apartments on other floors. The room was large and well furnished, and the whole place kept clean - memories of school swimming pools when popped back mid-morning and they were mopping the corridors ! The breakfast was good, with a wide range of items, the breakfast room having a vaulted and frescoed ceiling. The staff were helpful in finding out about bus journeys, having patience even though we had to communicate mostly via google translationion. There is an excellent family run taverna just a few minutes walk away - right out of the hotel, first right, first restaurant on the right.
