How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

I wish the B&B was better signposted as it was not that easy to find
The Hotel was not so easy to find - but we did eventually. The hostess was great and the facilities very adequate. The breakfast was great...

It was a noisy night with a very loud dispute nearby. And the dog upstairs wasn’t quiet too. It is a bit remote area from Carrara and there is no good walking path to get there (nearby Via Francigena is closed due landslide and there are no sidewalks at the main road).
Sally was very kind and offered early check-in as we started the hike early morning due the heat. We chose Carrara as there was no reasonable accommodation left in Massa.

The only thing was it was a little hard to find.
Everything, the host was lovely and breakfast was fantastic.

10 Euro charge for the dog which was told to me when I was leaving with all my bags!

about an hour walking from carrara-avenza but worth it for the beautiful landscape

stairs to reach the room. no locks on bedroom door. a little hard to locate especially if reaching in the dark. no fan or aircon in the room. had to open the windows to let fresh air in (risk mozzies coming in).
awesome host. reasonably fresh/modern. great breakfast. public parking available outside the property.

Without a car, getting back up out of Carrarra is a little challenging by foot as there is a section of road which is a bit dangerous, but you probably shouldn't be walking it anyway!
Had a wonderful stay here. The host is a very kind woman, incredibly helpful. I was slightly delayed arriving as I was doing a portion of the Via Francigena, and she was very helpful and responsive via message. Carrarra is slightly off the between track but you get tremendous views as you descend into the town. The accommodation itself is lovely, extremely comfortable, homely, and you get a great night's rest. Great options for breakfast in the morning and to fuel up for the day ahead.

We were only in Carrara for one night but Leatizia was a great host. The room had everything we needed and the breakfast was delicious!

First, check-in was a bit of a headache. The property’s address is Via Casalina 18A, but when you plug in the address using Apple Maps, you’re directed to Casalina 18, which, rather than being next door, is around the block. The host, who speaks almost no English, has to come fetch you in her car. Not a huge deal, but frustrating for the ten minutes you’re waiting not knowing what’s going on (unless you speak Italian). Second, some animal trapped in the wall was scurrying around all night and made it very difficult to sleep.
Leiticia (hope I spelled her name right) was a friendly and gracious host. Her breakfast was especially good. The room was nice.

All the towels smelled bad and were very old. The room was very small. The breakfast was poor. We didn't feel good in general. I don't understand the reason for the 8.9 rating.

Leticia was an excellent host, her room was spacious with a balcony every detail thought about for a relaxing stay. The view is of vineyards and birds singing very tranquil. The room was clean and organized with a good bed fantastic breakfast and her animals are much loved beautiful creatures. Above and beyond my expectations Thank you Leticia

Shower was small for a tall person.
Very convenient located close to Carrara Port (Work). Friendly host and nice and quiet place, slept really good.
