It’s a bit far from the city center and it’s not the most pleasant walk there, as sometimes it goes through narrow streets without side walks. There was no a/c in our room and it was too warm at night.

We had a nice room with a spacious balcony and a bit of a mountain view. Breakfast and cocktails in the bar were quite good :)

We loved our stay here. The hotel had a great view and a great heated pool. The parking was good too. The staff were really friendly, and the breakfast was a good selection. The little touches of the hotel like free bike use, free passport stamps and a large balcony made our stay.

Beautiful family run hotel in a tranquil neighbourhood of Merano. Cosy feeling with modern amenities. We visited at the end of October when the weather was still warm enough to take a dip in the pool which is heated in the winter months. Its definitely worth opting for the breakfast… food was excellent and the view of the sunrise on the mountains was a serene start to our day. Looking forward to our next visit - just hope this place remains a secret!

We liked everything about this hotel!

This is a fabulous hotel! It's family owned & operated . The rooms are beautifully appointed with balconies, luxurious bathrooms, comfortable beds, & a really good breakfast. The heated pool was a plus with beautiful views of the countryside. A very attentive & accommodating staff. Our favorite hotel!

We so enjoyed our stay! Everything was very modern and high spec. The swimming pool was warm and we used it every evening. The views from the balcony were incredible. Best of all were the evening meals, which were five courses of health tyrolean food with desert creations. We usually eat out at restaurants in town but Hotel Salgart were so much better. And the staff were wonderful!

Nice and clean room with a spacious balcony. Very friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing, so many things to choose from, fresh and delicious! Really enjoyed starting our day every morning with a swim in the pool with the scenic mountainous landscape around the hotel area being the cherry on top. Looking forward to another stay at Hotel Salgart soon!

We missed coffee making facilities. A fridge, especially in summer to keep cool drinks will be very useful. There is ample space for this in the room. This does not mean that we won't return to Salgart if we are in Merano again.

The room was very clean, modern decor and spacious. A good sized terrace overlooking the heated pool and well cured gardens with views to the surrounding mountains and apple groves. The bathroom is modern with a wide walk in shower. A big plus was the sauna which we were not aware of. The breakfast was ample. Large variety of bread. The staff is very attentive and ready to accommodate. The walk to the center of Merano was about 15mins through pleasant roads with beautiful houses along the way. We also walked to Trauttmansdorff but then we are good walkers. I have no idea how public transport works in the area.

These are minor issues: Sound isolation between the rooms was not great. The beds were subjectively quite hard. For a short stay the location is good (very quiet) but because it is a bit of a distance away from the center of town, it is quite a march to and from downtown Merano (20 minutes) if you want to see the sights or eat out once a day. Taking the car is not effortless due to the narrow roads and parking issues in town, so a bicycle is probably the best option if you plan on spending a week or more ...

Amazingly friendly, thoughtful staff, especially with regards to my wife's gluten-free requirements - there were various alternatives for her on the breakfast table and she could choose how much or little she wanted to eat. Guest service at its finest! Spacious, modern rooms, clean, big bathroom, lovely balcony, very quiet location in a residential area, lovely outside pool area.

It would be nice to have a small fridge in the room.

Breakfast was great. The saltwater pool was lovely. Everything was clean. It wasn’t overrun by loud Americans. Lots of free parking. They set up our breakfast table specially with a candle and drink on my birthday. Very thoughtful.

Complaints only at a very high level. Breakfast only from 0800-0930 and if you come at 0800, you will be queuing if you come after 0830 there are hardly any rolls left and the choice of bread down to a minimum. Also the warm choice is pitiful, only scrambled egg and as soon as this runs out, usually by about 0830 it is not refilled. Finally, it would have been nice to have proper fruit juice rather than Nectar.

The Personnel, the location, the room, basically everything was really good. The breakfast was well organised and there was a good choice of different things for different people. The location was only 15 minutes by foot from the centre of Meran. Very peaceful location

Lovely civilised hotel with an older clientele. Great sized comfortable rooms, plenty of choice for breakfast with allocated table. Parking free and easy to find a space. Beautiful gardens and views, with added bonus of a swimming pool. Easy walking distance to town. Tanner pizzeria and restaurant up the hill is worth a visit.

To eat dinner at Salgart, you needed to book before 10am which was out of the question because we were on the road. We were directed to a Pizza place that was a 10 minute walk. It was not really a restaurant and was doing a roaring trade in home deliveries, however the people were nice and the pizza was good. Points lost for the dinner situation
