How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

You need to hold the showerhead in your hand, since there was no place to attach it. Furthermore there were not many soaps/things.
Great location, host & beds. You have the whole room actually with multiple beds .

I only missed a salt, oil, pepper and etc in the kitchen and shower gel in bathroom.
The apartament has everything you need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable, there wasnt noise from outside at the night.. The host was very kind. Nearby was a supermarket and the both main ferry ports in Salerno, from where you can easily take a ferry to Amalfi, Positano, Capri etc. The location was good, 14min by walk to train station where is the bus stop for the airport too. The flat was clean, on the first floor.

At night there were some noises coming from outside and we could not sleep for a while.
Landlord was so kind and thoughtful. Apartment was in the city center. Good price☺️

The flat has great location but needs to be refurnished. It has capacity to be a top-rated apartment with minor investments. Also, I would recommend putting in some kitchen appliances.
The host was fantastic and very patient. Mr. Mauro was waiting us, since we had several delays during the day. He also handed us the keys and advised us about the surroundings.

Access to the apartment up two storeys of steps. Hard with suit cases.

It's probably a century old building so it has that heritage vibes.water was logged in bath area and did not drain fast.

The linens should have been cleaner. The water of the shower didn’t drain properly.
The location is superb. The unit is cosy and spacious.

Apartment took only cash but it was informed earlier so did not have issue with that.
It was very good apartment with working kitchen. Had one double bed and two single beds with working air condition. 15 mins walk from the train station. Stop for SITA BUS and ferry is very close by. Mr. Mauro was a great help. Strongly recommend..

On Booking, the appartment in its pictures includes a photo with red bet that is not in the appartment (I assume it is in an appartment next doors that came into being through division of formerly bigger appartment). Based on that, we thought there were two rooms in the appartment
The appartment had high ceilings and was soacious, it can sleep up to seven people. Kitchen is super basic. It is not filled with light but it is reasonably silent.

Lack of cleanliness and any proper facility. The reality is very different than what is presented in the pictures. This experience made me rethink ever using booking.com ever again. The beds were broken and uncomfortable, the kitchen was disgusting, the shower as well. I do not recall even a clean area. Do not go there, apart from emergencies. Salerno is beautiful but you can find way better accommodations.

We really enjoyed our stay in Salerno. The house was great. It had everything you needed and the host Mauro was very very friendly. Highly recommend!

The kitchen was very small with very basic utensils, no kettle, no bowels for cereal for the kids, no microwave, the table was stuck in a corner and not really usable. The shower and toilet are in one really small room, which makes the use and moving around very difficult. The shower is very basic, with a very small hand-held shower. The beds were not very comfortable. All the beds were in one big room. The garage bags are kept outside the front door behind a curtain, which leaves a bad smell after the second day. It's not a place for a family with kids.
The location was central. However, parking needed to be prearranged, which we were not aware of. Moving luggage to and fro is difficult. The host was very polite.

nothing everything was honestly perfect for our stay
the host was very sweet and accommodating ! he showed us where everything was in the apartment, gave us towels, soaps, etc., carried our suitcase, gave us local recommendations, and came to meet us as soon as he could after our bus was late!
