How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewLocation.
No bag storage. No reception. No breakfast option. Impossible to find without guidance from calling the apartment. Expensive for what it was (but maybe everything in Verona is).

Verified reviewClose location to all the sights
Very difficult to find. Had to call and then they came to let us in. I didn't know that this was the check in progress. No coffee maker in apartment even though this was listed in the facilities. Small room but other facilities ok.

Verified reviewLocation near the centre of town- as seen in photos but they are very misleading regarding the available space. The view is to a building site
This is not a hotel , it is 3 rooms in an apartment. There are beggars outside the entrance. The place where you check in is an office around the corner - it is not signposted. There is no kettle. There is a glass box around the door of the apartment which is hard to see in the dark and it needs opened to go to the toilet- very dangerous. The only place the air on remote works is in the glass box. The person who checked us in tried to pretend we had booked a different room. Someone left the door to the apartment open all night. The entrances through the security gate and into the building were left ajar.

Verified reviewThe room was beautifully decorated and clean. Best of all is the location which is literally 3 mins walk from the main central square. Supermarket downstairs also so during daytime hours you can get whatever you need
It’s not overly clear but these are just rooms in a weird apartment block. Entry is via a locked side gate and on the third floor up either stairs or a very small elevator. There is no reception or anyone to speak to. We arrived very late and there is nowhere to get drinks/snacks and no minibar. It suited us perfectly for a quick One night stop over but if your expecting a welcome drink and welcome to Verona experience you wont get it here. All check in etc is done over Wats app/ smart phone so again, if you prefer less tech way of doing things.. I’d avoid this. Also we did want to explore Verona the next day and with nowhere to leave luggage this was impossible so this was also a negative

Verified reviewA bit difficult to find to start with but a quick call and we were met and shown in. The apartments are compact but very nice and ideal for the Arena and everything around central Verona.
The exit gate was always an issue for us as there were always people hanging around next to the supermarket which was quite intimidating at times, however I don't think there is very much the owners of the apartment can do about that. Just have to keep an eye on things.

The actual entrance - the block it was in. I didn’t realise there was no reception and nowhere to leave bags.

Verified reviewNot much. Staff tried to be — and were — as helpful as they could be.
It’s not really a hotel; it’s part of an apartment. The bed was hard, there was construction going on outside, there was a strange alarm-like sound coming from somewhere in the morning. Check-out was 10 am. Really? Worst of all is that you are directed to another address when you Google it, also called Arena Relais. There is no signage for them on the street where they actually are. There is an electric kettle to make some tea, but what if you are a coffee drinker, which I am. All in all, lipstick on a pig.

The shower was fine for us but would be on the small size for anyone above average weight.

The wi-fi does not work as apartment is too far away from router. The bedroom walls were thick with dust.

Verified reviewProperty was very clean, comfortable with a good shower and the bonus of a washing machine. Was more like a mini apartment. Friendly host met us on arrival. Close to walk to the main sights of Verona.
Part of a large apartment block with no on site staff which was unclear on the booking info. A late check in time. Rather cluttered decor.

Verified reviewLet's start with the fact that we were met by a nice and polite girl, she told us everything, showed us the room and sent us a list of useful places and locations on WhatsApp. The room itself is like a museum, everything is in a very refined style and matches the photos of the property. Everything is clean, comfortable, in good condition and tasteful. There is a small balcony overlooking the courtyard. An excellent and well-functioning shower. The 3rd floor and there is an elevator. The location is simply TOP! Next to the entrance to the historical part of the city and the Colosseum, under the house there is a supermarket with an underground closed parking lot. It closes at 21:00 and opens in the morning, so you can safely leave your car overnight for 18 euros. We had very positive emotions and impressions from staying in these apartments, we can safely recommend them. We did not find any minuses.

Verified reviewThe location was excellent.
The furniture was large and cumbersome. The glass door was unnecessary and was quite dangerous in the night, if one needed to access the bathroom. The air conditioner needs replacing.

Verified reviewI stayed one night in this clean, well-laid-out studio. The bathroom and bedroom were nicely decorated, and the space included a washer and kitchenette. The balcony was a nice bonus. Best of all, the location was perfect — right in the city center, easy to walk everywhere. I’d happily stay again!
It was a bit hard to find at first. We received clear instructions by email, but I hadn’t read them before arriving. Thankfully, a receptionist came out to meet us and guided us to the building and our room, which was very helpful
