Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesExcellent location near so many sites. Great restaurants and bars nearby and below the accommodations. Reasonable Gelato place across the street. Accommodations are so convenient to walking to sites that the more basic side of the accommodations are an easy compromise. Would stay here again.

ArmeniaThe room could have been cleaner. On the first day we were told that the next day we had to change the rooms, so we adjusted our schedule for that. The next day turned out that the change of room would happen the day after, so we had to readjust again. Not very comfortable.
We liked the location.

New ZealandSome weird smells everywhere but it's not so bad.
The location is actually amazing, from the window you can see The Vatican down the end of the street! Also the Gelato place right next door is so good. The lady who met us for the key was lovely! Very very cheap especially for the location. The beds were okay, although only the inner part of the duvet so likely isn't washed. Overall though great value for money and it's fairly clean.

CanadaThe room is just basic. Clean sheets and towels. And Just that. The washrooms were just clean enough. But the shower curtain in a terrible state. Would be an easy replacement. But the owner doesn't care I guess. No toiletries or Kitchen facilities or. a common areas. Just rooms with a bed and table. Okay if you are staying a night or two and just need an economical place to rest at night. Busy area and not soundproof at all. The antique shop downstairs works almost till midnight restoring furniture, and the ambulance siren was deafening as there is a hospital nearby. You will be okay to stay here if you have no expectations.
Localization is close to the Vatican and St.Peter Basilica and Castel Sant Ange.. Not staffed all the time, but the girls were good and kind and doing their best to manage this apartment. Very Economical. What you pay is what you get.

NetherlandsA querrel started, sins the Host start giving me a broken key. I supposed this key was function, a good Host can't give a key that is not fit. Within 1 day the key broke in the gate. I did text the host requesting a new Not broken key. A. Conversation with the host requesting a key 45 minutes B. After the 45 min call & texting, he agreed 1 pm, on my Saturday my vacation weekend, I had to leave and go back to the building stay outside and waited 45 minutes, no body did show up and the Host did not even take the phone, while he was online ! (see picture attached) C.After 1 hr, the Host did call back to make a new appointment at 3PM, what an abuse, it is my vacation in ROME and I need to meet again according their agenda. I'm not a clown. D. Imagine you: One weekend in Rome, and this fellows, playing a dirty game. I was with 2 children E. On Top, Host mentioned he can arrange a Key but the owner may charge me (owner nr is on Booking.com) F. So, they can charge, so they can also pay me my lost Saturday ! I did mention I will escalate this. The Host was good to discuss in stead of solving a simple issue. I did demand the Host to slide the gate key under my room door. And I managed, to pass the main Gate, how ? Pushing each bell till a neigborg did open up. (Today May 9), for my suprize I read, the owners reply. He made a nice story, refusing to admit the truth. An apologizing is the least & best they could have done. I have the screen shots of all the conversations, and today May 9 I will post a few due to the owners reaction, denailing , as proof contrary to all his feedback. The Host is a Peruvian, we spoke perfect Spanish. There is no confussion here, just a lauzy service. I have the whole conversation (screenshots) as you can see "my pictures contradict all the the owners feedback. Success Folks. What a miserable team ! (2x)

QatarFirst of all, the apartment is located on the 3rd floor without elevator inside the building, that was not mentioned in the description of the building. With luggage that you have to lift on the 3rd floor in antique stairs, it’s quite crazy challenge. 2) No kettle inside apartment! Even no cup! 3) internet is disappearing all the time! I had to leave the room to come closer to the main door to have a good connection.
Only location was perfect.

Perfect location! Excellent WiFi, Very Clean! A/C worked great! Sound proof windows & black out curtains. It was an excellent stay because of the location! It’s at the corner of Porta Costello & Borgo Pio, with many great reasonable restaurants. 10 min walk to St Peter’s Basilica, 20 min walk to Trevi fountain & the Spanish Steps, & 30 mins walk to the Colosseum!

SloveniaCleanliness is very bad. The walls were probably painted during the period of the Roman Empire. A terrible stench was spreading from the corridor, and it was very difficult to ventilate the room. The door of the room was very insecure and on the first night various noises were heard in front of the door itself. We did not receive any invoice from the owner, nor did we receive a certificate of residence. No one changed the towels, and when we returned one day we noticed that the window was closed, although we had left it open during our entire stay, all days. The price was sky high, although of all the nearby locations, it was the most affordable. Definitely not to be repeated in my case. But for some cheaper condition is ok.
Location is perfect. Everything that is written on the booking is available in the facility. Very good restaurant is under the room.
