How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The food was exceptional, made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients, many of which were produced at the hotel’s own farm. Every meal was a true delight. Verified reviewWe are a couple travelling with our little dog, and we absolutely loved our stay. Communication was smooth from the start, and the receptionist was incredibly friendly and helpful—just like the restaurant staff, who were clearly passionate about what they do. It’s also very clear that dogs are truly welcome here, pampered with thoughtful amenities in the room, plenty of space to explore—including the beautiful gardens and chestnut tree trail—and even a Dog Care Station complete with brushes and supplies for our furry companions. We opted for the Halbpension, and the dinner was fantastic, paired with an excellent selection of regional wines. The sauna and pool garden made for a wonderfully relaxing experience. Don’t miss the special blue eggs from their farm at breakfast—they’re a real treat! This place truly understands what hospitality means. This is the last day of our trip, and staying here completely made up for the disappointing experience we had at the start of our 9-day journey at Der Walzl in Igls. We will definitely be back—and next time, we’ll try their Michelin-starred restaurant, Einhorn!
If I had to mention one minor drawback, it would be the sound of traffic from our room. As a light sleeper, I still managed to sleep through the night with the window half-opened.

Massages at the SPA restricted to a few days only, which unfortunately did not match with our agenda. Next time would book in advance.

Recommend you get an electrician to link a switch to a light and label the switch ! We couldn’t switch lights o ff and spent too much time with reception staff trying to work out what was going on Anyway, a good stay as the rating confirms.

AC is only available in our suites, and the charge of 20€ per person for this upgrade is standard and justified. Regarding your dissatisfaction with our staff, we are surprised as our team usually receives positive feedback. We will review this matter internally. We aim for transparency with our pricing. The pet fee is 23€ to cover additional cleaning costs. It is also mentioned in the room description that our standard rooms are located on the main front and are therefore not quiet. Verified reviewWe did not like anything in this "prison like" Hotel, except it's location close to the Brenner highway. The Hotel claims to be a Deluxe 5 Star property, and hardly fulfills a 2 Star standard. The Junior Suite which we had booked for € 272,46 turned out to be a run down standard room. The pictures of the Junior Suite show one of the many different Junior Suites and therefore create the wrong impression. The room we stayed at was totally overpriced and not worth more than € 99,- (to be nice !). Our dog was charged an extra € 23,-, for nothing else but being allowed in this miserable outfit ! The room (the so called Junior Suite) was run down and in desperate need of a complete rebovation - inside and outside at the balcony. The furniture was 1950 style and ugly to look at ! In the Restaurant, we found the prices to be rediculously expensive - charging € 16,- for a 0,2 glas of Südtirol wine.... Portions were extremely small but at least tasted ok ! The big portion of tartar was priced at € 31,- !!!! There is no 24 hr reception and breakfast is served only after 07.30 am (No expecptions !). Doors are locked after 22.00 pm and if you would like to check out between 22.00 pm and 07.30 am you find yourself locked up prison style. All in all a truely terriible erxperience and definately not worth the money. Our advise: Chose another Hotel which will treat you as a valued customer - not this miserable outfit !

Our reception hours are clearly stated as 07:30 to 21:00, and we do not advertise a 24-hour reception service. 3. We prioritize offering high-quality wines and regional products at reasonable prices. A glass of wine for €8.00 is within the normal price range. 4. Our breakfast buffet hours are clearly stated as 07:30 to 11:00. Had you informed us about your early checkout, we would have prepared your bill the night before and provided a packed lunch for your early departure. Nowhere do we claim that breakfast starts at 07:00. 5. The additional charge for your pet is intended to cover extra cleaning and maintenance and it is clrearly communicated. Constructive criticism is very important to us. However, we believe that many of your points of criticism are not justified, and we feel that the 1/10 rating is unfortunately not warranted either.
